Lovely hotel in a delightful building with large patio garden at front of it. Clean and spacious rooms. Good evening meal at reasonable price. The only downside was the offering at breakfast. Only two offerings of porridge were available and that was at about 8.15 am, disappointing especially as we were in Scotland. Also little choice in other cereals and no natural yogurt which to me is an indication of a good choice of breakfast menu. Other than that would recommend for a short stay.

Room 2 completely refurbished with brand new furniture, carpet, curtains etc in very stylish oranges and light sage green checked tweed. Shame they didn't replace the sagging mattress, but otherwise very good for the price. Modern new bathroom with good shower. Sockets in all the right places. Dinner good and service very friendly and efficient. Short but very fairly priced wine list, most under £20. Ample parking and great location just off J19 of the M74, ideal for a stopover to or from Scotland.

An overnight stay. Very easy access to motorway routes. Beautiful dining room, great food reasonably priced, lovely breakfast included in the room price! Excellent value for money. Very good.

I'm in two minds about writing this review as Cressfield seems to fall into the 'hidden gems' category!!! I have stayed here previously with my husband when travelling too and from the Highlands to visit family in England but this was the first time I'd stayed there alone. The warm, friendly staff put me at ease immediately, even offering to take my luggage to my room. Despite the dining room being super busy they fitted me in for a delicious evening meal without losing the smile on their face. The single room was exceptionally good value for money and, as ever, spotlessly clean, well maintained and contained everything needed for a comfortable night's stay. Breakfast was of the same high standard as the evening meal and I, reluctantly, left ready to continue my journey. I'll be back!!!

A great friendly and well priced Hotel. The staff on both arrival and at breakfast were attentive and friendly. The room was really clean and the bed comfy. The full Scottish breakfast was superb. If you are looking for an overnight stop travelling north or south, then this place fits the bill. (Plus the bar was a welcomed bonus!).

My husband and I stayed here recently on our way up to the Scottish Highlands and liked it so much we stayed on the way back too! Great location just minutes off the motorway, very friendly and welcoming staff, clean, comfortable rooms and a tasty cooked breakfast. Highly recommended.
