The restaurant manager is mean and arrogant. He was not helpful to us at all. I am not at all in the habit of giving negative opinions on the internet but here I found it necessary to share my bad experience with this restaurateur who looked down on us and who was not at all helpful. !My friend asked if there were vegetarian dishes: he simply replied that we had to open up to the world and that there would only be fries for her…

Unfortunately we arrived the day before the kitchen opened after a major refurbishment. The place looked great however and the beer and whisky selection was excellent I wish them every suscess in the future and we will definitely return.

Was blown away by the recent refurbishment. Better than ever with new tables & bar. The kitchen was delivering some top bar food. My favourite was the Venison burger. It was massive & super tasty. The fish & chips were also a stand-out dish. Big portions for the hungry hiker. It is better to reserve a table using the email on the website to guarantee a good feed.

We just had a day trip out on the Ferry. Stopped in at the pub. Staff were great. Kitchen didn't open until 5.30 and we were on the 6.30 ferry back. No problem in getting that sorted for us.

In the very early 1980’s I came here still as a schoolboy with my father and others various times and skipped around most of the big tops. One night we even ended up sleeping in a fish farm building when we ran out of light, there being nowhere else (that we could find) way back then. Now father is 89, I’ve just retired and we’re back here with my son. I picture my younger self still up there on the skyline ridges. So while I ponder all this and wait for the ferry back over to Mallaig and home we have enjoyed venison, squid and the like washed down with a couple of pints of the local beers. What a lovely place and what achievements created by the community here. Thank you, Knoydart, for all these lovely times.

We had a fantastic day on Knoydart. Visited on a Monday, when the Old Forge doesn't do food. Beer was lovely and great atmosphere in there, with locals and visitors .
