Location wise this was very handy and easy to find with a decent size car park. From the car park I went to the front door and rang a couple of times, no answer so decided to try the public bar, a sign on the car park pointing in that direction would have been very helpful. All good when inside, the staff were nice helpful and friendly, it was a Sunday when I left and they left me cereals and toast and a packed lunch for the day. A kettle and some juice in the breakfast room would have been perfect. The room was large enough with an ensuite shower which worked fine. Some mould in the ceiling which needs some attention along with the shower door which took some persuasion to close. Another door which needs attention was the room door, being a fire door it just didn't close itself. Things were a little noisy from the bar, and some terrible singers but hey it was Saturday night..?. The meal in the bar was really nice, I can recommend the Great Scot Pie and a pint, thanks very much, I would stay again but make sure I don't have to get up early and stay for breakfast!Food & drinks: Great Scot pie! ?

Had dinner here tonight. Place was nice and clean and the food was great. Only downside was the weird lighting in the room where we ate. Maybe its just something we noticed and nobody else would care but most of the pub had a nice cosy glow whereas the room we ate in just had two really dim blue-white LED chandelier things. Combined with the blue paint and blue wallpaper it was somehow dim enough to make it hard to see and bright enough to make you squint your eyes at the same time.Friendly staff, tasty food and the pub quiz in the other room was packed so id happily come again but for the love of God buy some new bulbs!

Stayed in the Inn for a night en route to John O'Groats. The room was spacious and clean. Despite the busy road and attached bar/restaurant the room was overall quiet and a good night sleep was had.

Had an evening meal here. The food was hot, fresh and plentiful and service was great. We had prawns, breaded haddock and the Scottish pie. Fis was really so good and the pie was an interesting combination.

Went in to the bar on 3 occasions over a 2 week period. Very nice staff, classic village pub vine with a pool table and dartboard. Music was low and innofensive. Its one of the more southern venues that still has Tennents Ember on tap which is a personal favourite.Although I didn't eat, the food smelled lovely and there were regular diners that I assume were locals . A good sign.

Staying at a local caravan site we ordered fish and chips for our tea and were not disappointed. Food arrived quickly with a smile and was hot and delicious. Definitely recommend this wonderful establishment.

This was a simple ensuite accommodation in a beautiful old pub that offered a homely, comfortable stay. Excellent value for money and a lovely couple who worked hard to make everyone's stay feel special. I didn't think to photograph the room, but I photographed the lovely window. It had a queen size bed, bedside tables with lamps, the bathroom (shower, toilet, basin) was large and easy to use. Access to the room was up a flight of stairs. I'd come again.

We had a really pleasant lunch here today. I had the battered haddock, homemade chips and peas... followed by bread and butter pudding. My partner had haddock fishcakes, homemade chips and fresh salad... followed by rice pudding with raisins. All was delicious and the service was prompt and friendly.
