Lovely little restaurant with typical Scottish dishes, and more refined than the usual. Very often portion sizes at restaurants are a bit too big for our liking - here they were perfect! We were able to really enjoy all three courses in their entirety. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and even took the time to have a chat and a joke with us, despite being busy, taking care of the place on his own.Tip: you might have to pay cash - there is an ATM right across the street.

If you are looking for an amazing cooked meal then this is your stop. The owner is the host, waiter and chef. Amazing service and food. It was all local food and the venison was from the down the road. And the deserts were to die for. Seriously check this place out.

An absolutely wonderful restaurant that warms your belly, heart and will make you happy about being alive and in the heart of Scotland. The quality-price relation is excellent, the dishes are flavourful, hearthy and the attention is lovely. The owner clearly loves his work and keeping the great quality and standard of it. Our local B&B host recommended this place and she was spot on. The owner was short-handed that night since it was on the shoulder season, but amazingly, his service was faster than any other restaurant we'd eaten at on our two-week journey across Scotland. There were four of us, and every meal was spectacular! I highly recommend, but be aware, Cash only, there is an ATM across the street. Well worth the minor inconvenience.

This place was amazing. Welcoming waiter/host/cook who welcomed us into the restaurant, which you can tell is a labor of love. The food is locally sourced (venison was purchased just down the road) and was spectacular. My husband's steak with mushroom/whisky sauce was so good he wouldn't share. And the desserts were heavenly. The cheesecake was light and delicious. I had a strawberry/raspberry cranachan which was the perfect balance of sweet and tart, with a hint of whisky. It was amazing. Cann not recommend highly enough.

Yes, you have to wait a bit longer and yes, the meal portion is not very big, but the quality of the food is great and the staff are very friendly. Even if I like „fish and chips“ it is refreshing to get here other dishes than burger and fish and chips, like monkfish, dug and venison. Also excellent dessert.We had a nice evening.
