Laggan, Bridge, NewtonmoreWe found this lovely cafe after a trip to Lagan Wolf Trax. The food was delicious and perfect after a morning of biking! Prices were very reasonable. It has been nicely decorated and all the artwork is from local artists. Lovely selection of gifts, cards and candles. Staff were really friendly and it was dog friendly too. They even brought out treats for the dogs.

Antlers Cafe
Main St, NewtonmoreWe were looking for somewhere to have lunch and this place was my husbands choice as it looked 'welcoming'. Good choice as it turned out. We chose a table and the waitress came to take our drinks order and returned to take the food order after a few minutes. I chose the crispy shredded chicken and dirty fries (chips with grated cheese and a pickle sauce drizzled on top) and my husband had the Goats Cheese Tower, which was a wedge of goat cheese, a slab of black pudding and another wedge of goat cheese. May not sound good but it tasted incredible!!! We both enjoyed our choices and followed up with a very nice Carrot Cake, The coffee was delicious. All in all a really nice place, good staff and great food. £28.50 Bargain!!

Dower House Newtonmore Bed & Breakfast and Self Catering
Perth Rd, NewtonmoreSuch a warm, friendly welcome from Lynda & Eric, lovely spacious room, very comfortable bed with many, many pillows. The en suite shower room was so good I stayed in it far too long...every time!, hidden home made treats were unexpected and delicious...I booked evening meals ahead of my stay and loved every one. The breakfast special was so good I was absolutely set up for the day! Came back at night to a lovely log fire and struggled to move from the hypnotic flames. This stay made my work trip an absolute pleasure, and I was sad to leave!Food & drinks: Food was so good I bought a baking book to take away that Lynda had printed locally with her own recipes...can't wait to try them out!

The Wild Flour
Main St, NewtonmoreThe Wild Flour used to be a bakery, then an art gallery and now it is a comfortable family run cafe serving freshly cooked meals and still host to an interesting range of local artist's work in the entrance. Lovely comfy sofas, chalk and blackboard and a small play area will keep the children occupied while you enjoy your meal. Here you will find a good menu serving a range of hot food, and haggis and fruit chutney along with the biggest scones I have ever come across!! A speciality is the delicious home baked cakes displayed on a shelf, Belgian hot chocolate and a generous choice of other hot and cold drinks. At the back of the restaurant is a view over an enchanting small garden. The staff are warm and friendly and everything ticks along nicely. If you are looking for a laid back place to anchor while you enjoy a peaceful lunch in an unhurried atmosphere, consider the Wild Flour at Newtonmore.

Snack Shack
General Wade's Military Rd, DalwhinnieOur new first and last stop when holidaying in the Highlands!I've read a few moaning reviews but its called 'Snack Shack' and its in the middle of nowhere in the Highlands... Did they expect a 5* michelin experience!!??Its proper grub at decent prices,Great Coffee and even better food! Just what you need at 10am after an 8 hour drive!The lady serving is very friendly and polite, the room is huge with plenty of space between tables, although a bit cold in winter so put a wooly on, but theres a hugh log burner which soon warms you up, the tables etc are spotlessly clean but best of all the location is stunning with delightful views out of the windows, we cant wait to return in June! Thank you Snack Shack!... Loaded sandwich guy ??Parking: Easy to park adn lots of it.Kid-friendliness: Lots of space for kids to run around.Wheelchair accessibility: Its got no steps.

Newtonmore Grill

Smith, Autotrim, Newtonmore we were looking forward to returning to pick them up.(Sean is an artist who takes pride in his work.)Having collected the refurbished seats a call in to the Newtonmore Grill was a much anticipated treat.It was great.We had promised ourselves a celebration steak and were delighted to enjoy the full works.Thank you so much for our delicious treat and the cheery company.Wishing you all that is good,Nick and Hilary.

Mehmood's Curry House
Mehmood's Curry House, 30 Main St, NewtonmoreAs visitors to the area, we were a little apprehensive to order here after reading mixed reviews. We are so pleased we ignored the few negative reviews; we really enjoyed our food (particularly the korma, madras and saag paneer), it pleasantly surprised us and satisfied our Indian takeaway craving. Our only constructive feedback is that the onion bhaji batter could have been a little less stodgy and the lamb a little more tender. Otherwise great meals all round. Thank you Mehmood’s!
