Dinner was superb.Very rich, with a lot of flavours. Staff were chatty, kind and helpful. Beer selection not to bad. Watch out for the 10% automatic tip added to bill - I would have left more if they had left it off.

Haven’t been here for a while and the FOH manager had to check with the only chef that they could fit us in as we had not booked. Glad they did though as the food and service were absolutely superb. Halloumi, lamb kebab and particularly the monkfish kebab were absolutely delicious but the lemon yoghurt cake dessert (normally dessert I find is a bit of an afterthought), was astonishingly good, even the fruit garnish was ripe delicious fruit. Friendly lightning quick service and absolutely delicious food just made our night-well done the whole team!!

On a weekend break from Glasgow with friends. The host Jack was welcoming and explained the menu. The food was delicious and well presented. The cocktails we had were lovely. The decor of the restaurant and hotel was modern and comfortable. We would definitely return for food and drinks again.

Unsecure of wich corses to choose, asked the waitor for advise but he was really short. We picked 2 small courses and 2 main, one of those were the Chef special. The waitor amrecommended a whine that was really good to the food. The small courses was really good, and the Adana Kebab as well, but the Mussakhan chicken was tasteless and tasted burned. I do not think the service, the quality og the wator or the taste was even close to a Michelin recomandation.

Amazing vegan options well labeled on the menu. Tofu skewers and baba ghanoush were my favorite and unsurprisingly the French fries and sauce were mind blowing. Highly recommend. Saved us after 24 hours of travel!

I was hesitant to try Baab after reading mixed reviews. Here's my take on it- this is a top notch restaurant recovering from the Covid downturn with still the occasional blip. My experience was excellent, with great customer service and delicious food quickly served at great prices. The other thing I noted was a frequent number of people complaining online about slow service, here and at other restaurants. I think many foreign tourists to Europe expect American style dining, whereas restaurants like Baab provide a European experience that is slower and more luxurious. It can be a bit tedious, but when in Rome, lean into it and enjoy it.I will also add that Baab is a Mediterranean restaurant in the Scottish highlands- not an expected occurrence. After three weeks of heavy pub food or fine European style multi course dining, we enjoyed the change of pace at Baab, both in the change of ingredients, flavors, and pace of the meal. But we went into it with expectations of a slower pace, and were pleased when it was not slow, and when the flavors were well done.We recommend Baab- especially if you are ready for a change from typical Scottish fare.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options and all allergens listed on menu.Parking: Street parking easy to find.

Booked this meal months ago as the reviews were excellent. Arrived and were shown to our table by a very polite, very well versed young girl. ( never saw any staff older than maybe early 20s) Order was taken and food/drink arrived very promptly after that. No complaints with starters or drink, unfortunately that’s where the positives end. Chicken shish kebab arrived and thankfully, even with the dull lighting, it was obvious that it was raw! Pointed this out to staff, only to be told that they would take it away and cook it properly. Not even an apology at this point. We told staff that we’d like to cancel that order and would obviously not pay for it. We were so shocked and disgusted by it that we could not to eat our other main course (mussels) . We then told staff that we would only pay for drinks and starters, they were shocked by this and only started to apologise after I pointed out how disgraceful it was that their chefs were putting out raw chicken . We found her to be very defensive and told us that she didn’t cook the chicken! This was a Friday night and there appeared to be no senior member of staff, only young girls. So disappointed and angry with our experience, and sitting writing this review hoping that we have not actually eaten raw food!, Stay away from this place at all costs, cooking chicken properly is a basic!

Fabulous food. Hostess a bit weird-did we have a reservation? No. Well were we guests at the hotel? No. Somehow she managed to squeeze us into a restaurant operating at about 30% capacity. Our server hated her job but was fine. But no fault in the food. Stuffed pepper delish, and walnut brownie with cinnamon ice cream was just short of sublime.

My partner and I were staying at the Perle Oban Hotel and decided to book a table at Baab for one of our evening meals. The gentleman who greeted us and served us during the evening was very attentive and friendly. We ordered the chicken shish and lamb kebab with some sides and thoroughly enjoyed it. Portions are generous so for dessert we shared the cheesecake with kataifi/orange blossom which was light and the perfect way to end the meal. Delicious! We will be back when we visit Oban again!
