Great food with amazing service

Service was very slow - they didn't have enough staff (many places are struggling to recruit). The menu was chips or mash with everything, which suited the rest of our party, but I was looking for a healthier option. I went for salad, but it was Caesar, so even that was swimming in dressing.Ginger and lemon cheesecake didn't taste of lemon at all.Dietary restrictions: Nothing low carb.

We visited the Bistro for lunch on our way home from Mull. The lady behind the bar was very welcoming, unfortunately we were then served by a ‘gentleman’ who was extremely rude both to us and the few other customers there at the time. After his third tirade of abuse we decided to leave without even trying the food that we had ordered. I have never been spoken to in a customer service environment like that before. Maybe he was trained by Basil Fawlty!

I'm not sure I've ever met, in my opinion, a more rude, aggressive, and offensive person in the hospitality industry. We specifically stopped here after looking at their menu on their website because of the dietary needs of one of our party. Sure enough the menu on their website was wrong... I was going to limit my review to warning others of that, however, the behaviour of the waiter was such one of the party ended up distressed and in tears and the rest of us were totally shocked. My view would be to avoid this place at all costs.

Stopped for a friday lunch while driving north, very friendly staff, decent menu, haddock and chips/ burgers were good value. Lovely open fire place, located next to/ inside the falls of lora hotel.

Went here for Bonfire night and a fabulous bonfire and fireworks display was put on outside across the road.\\nIt was free to all and a fantastic display it was.\\nThere was snacks and hot drinks served also.\\nWe opted to dine in and had a Sunday roast that was delicious.\\nOnly fault was the Yorkshire pudding was not fresh out of the oven. It tasted like it had been a while out of the oven as it was tough and not crispy, so we both left it.\\nWe did mention this to the waiter/barman who offered to get us both another but we declined as I had nearly finished eating.\\nCouldn't fault anything else at all.\\nThe service was fabulous especially from the barman and the youngest looking waiter.\\nOpen fire inside the restaurant/pub area.\\nGood wine also.\\nA must visit for all in the area.\\nA gem of a place for sure.

Excellent and attentive service from all the staff the room and public area were pristine and of high quality. Food great too. Lovely views from the bedroom across the loch. Oban is within easy reach for a day trip or evening out. Highly recommend

Unexpected experience. Though it is a restaurant in the framework of a hotel, it can stand on its own and offers very good food for an affordable price. The atmosphere and decoration is also beautiful!

I booked a cabin room. Clean, functional and a very comfy single bed in a great old hotel. Breakfast super. Friendly staff. Parking. Perfect for my requirements - thank you. Look no further if it's in the location you are after. Recommended.

Whilst touring the local area we always make a point to pop in here for dinner. What a marvellous restaurant in a delightful hotel. We received a lovely welcome from the staff, a nice table and enjoyed a delicious three course meal. The Stornaway black pudding with goats cheese and beetroot jus, for starters, was tasty, fresh and succulent. For mains we devoured the smoked haddock and pan seared beef strips and finished off with a bowl of traditional Scottish cranachan. All mouth watering and moreish! A very flavourful experience. We’re looking forward to our next visit already. Thank you.

We stayed in this hotel one night. It was a very bad experience and very far from what we expected considering we paid over £200 for the night. Walls and carpet were stained and there were some hairs on the bed. Room looked in desperate need of refurbishment. Overall we had a terrible experience and we absolutely believe the room we were given cannot be offered to anyone and particularly at that price.
