My husband and I had our wedding at Barony Castle Hotel this year and words can't describe how absolutely amazing our day was. Michele and all of the staff at the venue were so nice and made everything on the wedding day stress free. The staff were more than happy to help with any questions you had as well.The venue alone is absolutely stunning with incredible views driving down from Edinburgh and we were lucky enough to have the sun out all day. Beautiful rooms really clean, nicely decorated and the food on our wedding day was delicious. We arrived late for our evening dinner due to traffic, the waitress could not have been more accommodating. We were quickly seated and served. My steak pie was amazing, one of the best I have ever had, mouthwatering tender steak and freshly cooked vegetables. The room was a little tired and we had some issues with the noisy radiator in the room, which despite asking reception to resolve this issue, the problem continued for our two nights visit. Breakfast was excellent, especially when we asked for real coffee instead of the instant coffee served from the machine. The waitress immediately brought us fresh coffee served in a cafetiere, perfect. The hotel was clean, the food was delicious, however the stars of the visit to The Barony Castle Hotel, were the amazing staff, nothing was too much trouble, except the radiator of course! Recommend.

The hotel from outside looked great! They were welcoming with our dog, the dinner was great and breakfast average. The room was horrible, dirty carpet, bed light not working, fan in the bathroom not working, mattress old, dirty and very uncomfortable. The radiator was making a horrible noise all night even after turning it off. Maybe slept 1h . Would not recommend unless you stop just stop for a meal.

Our stay was eventful.We booked this weekend away for our anniversary and made the reception aware of this when booking. We walked into our room and it was a twin room with 2 single beds, my husband wasn't happy and we had to go back down and ask for a double room, this was granted.In the pool the main drain/vent cover in the middle of the pool was off so we made the receptionist aware of this. He said he knew as it's been like that for ages. HUGE SAFETY risk for anyone as someone could get their foot stuck down their and be pulled under the water.We were happy with our double room until we went to sleep, were the radiator made a clicking sound (trapped air) from 11pm - 9am, so we had little to no sleep.In the morning we let the receptionist know that it had to be fixed for us to sleep in the room again or a room transfer, again.The receptionist was kind and said for all the trouble he will upgrade us to a better room. We expected something a little nicer but nothing special, but we where given the Dean View Suite which was exceptional.Our only complaint about the suite was the jacuzzi bath didn't work and the ceiling above the bath was leaking in 2 places meaning we had to keep a towel on the floor so no puddles AND the bath panel was broken which I nearly caught my hand in.Service for the bar and food was 10/10, staff all welcoming, friendly and helpful.On checkout we told the receptionist about the bathroom leak and broken panel as any leak can turn major quick and he appreciated we noted it and wrote it down to get fixed immediately.

The Spa is quiet and excellent value for money and the conservatory is a great place to dine.The staff are friendly and the location and gardens are beautiful.It's actually quite easy to get to from Edinburgh by car bike or bus.

I was at Barony to conduct a wedding ceremony and the wedding team led by Michelle was first class. On-the-ball yet relaxed, they were great to work with and overall, for such a busy place with weddings, guests and coach parties happening all the time, they are brilliant at keeping everything going. Stayed for 4 nights on a Barnes coach trip.Very comfortable stay, staff wonderful in every way, couldn't fault themFood was Excellent, breakfast range was amazing.It's an old castle, so expect the odd creak in the floor on occasion !!Bathroom functional but a little tired, and shower screen leaked over floor hence only 4 stars for the room.Pool area was a bonus, and sauna was lovely.

We stayed at this hotel with a Shearings coach party from 31st July till 4th August, and have to say it was excellent in every way. The food was great plentiful and a lovely room very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful, Ok some areas were a little tired, but I thought this just added ambiance to the building. I honestly could not fault anything at all, and speaking to fellow travellers, and there were 31 of us, the sentiments were the same. I was born in Peebles 70+ years ago, and been back several times, but first time at Barony Castle, hopefully I will get to stay here again. Well done and thank you to all staff, especially to the pretty girl waitresses who done a great job feeding us all very quickly !

Our tai chi group (32) of us had a fantastic day practicing our art forms at the barony castle. Lunch was professionally and efficiently served and all staff bar none were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Lunch was exceptionally good and everyone commented on the quality of the meals served up by the chef. The surroundings and castle grounds were so beautiful too and well maintained. Thanks to Katie and events team for help organising this for us. We will be back !
