High standard of food. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Rooms clean and fresh. Could do with a little spruce and maintenance over the quieter months.

Nice cosy place, me and my family arrived without booking and was accommodated with a great table by the window. Was a bit of a distance from the car park and a little confusing to find the entrance. We found the food was overpriced for what we received, although it tasted good it wasn't amazing for the overprice. My daughters burger was overcooked, and my sons burger didn't taste the same as my partners burger. They had selected from the child's menu where we ordered from the actual menu. My lamb Sunday dinner was fab. The only thing I could suggest is for the price to reflect a more reasonable sized portion or a more competitive price.

Fabulous dinner with friends last night , they haven’t been before , we wanted to take them somewhere special in the area and we were not disappointed and they were impressed.Super country pub with great food , staff friendly and efficient.Highlights: venison shank , sticky toffee pud

The bar and dining room have a really relaxed feel and are spacious.Food was excellent and reasonable priced for what is available, as is breakfast. There's a small selection of craft beers on draught and in bottle, all served by cheerful and friendly staff. The room was slightly small and with a view onto a roof but there is free off street parking directly outside the rooms ( which are not attached to the bar / restaurant ).

Nestled in a little village on the way to the Borders the Horseshoe Inn is possibly one of my favorite spots to eat. We didn't stay the night here.On entry you're greeted by a friendly front of house member of staff and they get you seated promptly and give you a while to lull over the drinks menu. Meanwhile a waiter will bring you a decent and not overcrowded food menu.Having eaten here a few times I have yet to find something on the stater and mains courses that don't sate my appetite and expectations of a good Gastropub. I have to particularly recommend the scallop stater, definitely a recipe I will be trying at home. The deserts I think are the only thing that are a bit too much for me personally. The portion size for the toffee cake was sickeningly big. Its super rich and sweet but for something of that size, halved and served with a vanilla ice-cream (instead of clotted cream) would be much easier to digest.Either way super excited to go back again!!!Food & drinks: The Montanes Malbec was particularly nice to drink over the course of the nightNoteworthy details: Bus route right outside the door will get you to and from Edinburgh or further south into the Borders

Food here is always top quality. Owners also lovely. Does one of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had. I often recommend this to others if in Peeblesshire area (even if you aren't, it's worth the trip)

Excellent food, go there as often as we can which recently hasn't been alot but was great to go back for our anniversary. The food never disappoints and the staff are always attentive and friendly. Will be going back again.Food & drinks: Drink menu is very good always spoilt for choice and there are always so many great dishes to choose from. The food is excellent and always overdelivers on expectations

Stopped for one night on the way North and we were not disappointed. Staff were welcoming and efficient and our room well equipped and comfortable. The highlight of the stay has to he the food. Dinner menu is extensive with all food beautifully presented. Breakfast cooked to order was the best we have had in years and far outshone many 5star hotels. Bedrooms are in a separate building so need a jacket or umbrella in bad weather to reach dining room. The bedroom block is an older building so there was some noise from other rooms. Other than that our stay was perfect. Great location for visiting Peebles or breaking a journey North

We were looking for somewhere around Peebles to have dinner and stay overnight to celebrate an anniversary, having spent the afternoon in Galashiels to see the Scottish Tapestry, and I remembered having holidays in a caravan in Eddleston in the 1960's and frequenting this establishment. The price of the overnight stay here was almost half the price of staying in Peebles at my first choice of venue. We arrived at 5pm, got settled in our room in the converted village school, and had a drink in the bar before dinner at 7pm. We had a wonderful meal, then another drink in the bar, before retiring to our room after a long day. Breakfast in the morning was included in the price of the room because I had booked via their website. We will definitely be back.

Catered for our last minute booking, service was friendly, attentive but not over bearing or intrusive. Our meals were simply spectacular - perfectly cooked and seasoned pork and lamb, with fresh local vegetables, and generously proportioned which was welcome after a long day. It's slightly more expensive than typical pub food, but far better value than a city centre high end restaurant, and well worth paying a little extra for superb food and service.

Had a lovely lunch here a few days ago, really fresh, tasty food. Drinks perfect. Service was excellent, attentive, friendly and professional. 2 alcoholic drinks, 1 soft drink and five courses and the bill before tip was £81 . Will definitely return, lovely ambience too.

We had dinner here and everything was fabulous from start to finish. On arrival we were met by happy smiling staff who cared for us all night. The food was fantastic, we both had steak and it was cooked to perfection. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anybody and will definitely be back

Fantastic Sunday lunch, but lots of other tempting options on the menu. Very friendly staff who made a great fuss of our dog… so nice to find a dog friendly restaurant. Food was excellent, will be back to work our way through the rest of the menu.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant and bar. Food was faultless and incredible staff. Had our table all night, was a real treat of an evening. Will definitely be back. Very deserving of the culinary awards held, every course was superb.

We found this pub by chance but the food and welcome ( really dog friendly!) ensured we came back the next day . The food was exceptional, scallops , steak and haggis sauce , were some of the high points. Ian, Fiona and all the team , make this probably one of the best pubs in Scotland. We will be returning soon and staying over !
