My husband and I booked a last minute overnight stay, with the intention of visiting some local pubs in Peebles. We booked a signature double room, breakfast included, for £215. All the staff members we spoke to were polite and friendly. The room itself was very big and was great to have lots of space. The bathroom was also spacious, and nicely decorated. There were a few things that could be improved:There was no water in the room. Even a bottle of tap water would have been great for during the night. There was also no milk for coffee/tea in the room. These things I thought were standard in hotels, so I was surprised. The coffee machine did not look like it had been cleaned and the fridge in the room had crumbs and hairs at the bottom of it.My husband and I went down to the bar area for a drink before heading out. The bar staff were again polite but the atmosphere was extremely sombre. I would suggest that the bar area has some quiet background music playing.Breakfast in the morning was a very big let down. The continental spread they put on was beautiful but the cooked breakfast items were chewy and over cooked (especially the sausages!) The haggis was like a puree and we did not eat it.We did have high expectations for this hotel, as it is associated with peebles hydro, but it was not worth the money we spent and we probably wouldn't return.

Just back from a 2 day break with a friend at The Park hotel and this is a lovely little gem in the center of Peebles. A very warm and friendly welcome on arrival and could immediately see what an interesting and quirky place it was, a refreshing change from the standard chain and corporate hotels. Had booked a twin room booked but on arriving in the room it was set up as a double, a quick word with reception and this was immediately rectified with no fuss or bother while we availed ourselves of a coffee and cake served in the gardens from the Bakery. Room was spotless, modern and a lovely size with a gorgeous view over the surrounding countryside. We ate in the bar on our first evening, service and food were both fabulous and the breakfast certainly sets you up for the day. The room has a coffee pod machine, a fridge, hauirdryer, iron, ironingboard and a safe. The Arran toiletries in the bathroom smell amazing and are available to purchase if you want. The hotel has its own private car park and is situated just a 2 minute walk to the main shopping street and with full use of the facilities at the Hydro, which we also availed ourselves of the Park Hotel provides a lovely oasis of calm where the staff are some of the best i've ever had the pkeasure to deal with, always helpful, knowledgeable and service with a smile. Can't wait to go back in the future but canot recommend tjis hotel highly enough.

Just back from a quality 3 night stay and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff are so friendly nothing was ever too much trouble and were always happy to talk which makes a stay so much more enjoyable. Hotel is lovely in appearance, with well maintained grounds all accomplished by the non stop main man Billy ?. Billy’s partner Jenny was the gem of the hotel for us with her amazing knowledge of the area and advice on what to see and how best to see it, our interactions throughout the stay with Jenny was something we really enjoyed !!! Hotel itself is spotless with modern rooms with all the features you will need for a comfy stay. They are kept constantly cleaned with fresh towels on return from the days adventures which was really nice to have. Only ate breakfast but I have to say it has to be up there with one of our best we have had on any hotel stay as the offerings from continental to cooked were quality and tasty ? I would like to thank Susan , Val and of course Jenny & Billy for our brilliant stay and look forward to our return in the future ?

A fabulous return to the Park Hotel. Last visited in August 2020. We requested a Signature Room as we wanted a great view and we were not disappointed. Clean and light room, big window, comfy bed & great facilities. Felt really comfortable and loved the seating area by the window. Excellent breakfast too with very friendly and attentive staff. We tried the Tryst dining experience on the Saturday evening and it was amazing- chef Ryan served up some fabulous food alongside a paired wine. Would definitely recommend! Special mention to Beck who welcomed us to the hotel on the Friday evening and was our amazing host during Tryst- so knowledgeable about the food and wine and that made the evening very special. Lots of good walking options during the day and was good to support local businesses in Peebles too- a lovely town. Look forward to returning soon.

Wife and nyself had short break for her 60th. Food very nice, bed very comfortable, staff helpful and attentive. Only thing I could fault was that the shower was never warm enough on any occasion we used it

A nice old house on the edge of town and we’ll set back from the main road and with plenty of parking. The public rooms are well decorated and in very good condition and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room we had was to the rear of the building, overlooking the garden with a view of rooftops in the middle distance and a backdrop of the distant hills. Well appointed and with a small, separated, sitting area, ideal to relax in and enjoy said view. Two minor niggles with the room. 1/ The Wi-Fi, whilst perfect in the bedroom area, was very flaky in the sitting area, just where one would use it the most. 2/ The loo was very cramped between the wall and the sink unit, so close that cleaning one’s posterior was far from easy. The old nursery rhyme could easily be altered to ‘Oh dear what can the matter be, one fat lady stuck ON the lavatory’. What I would call the ‘proper’ restaurant only operates on a Friday and Saturday and whilst the food in the bar was of excellent quality the menu was very much of the ‘pub grub’ variety. Looking at other places in the town showed they were all much the same. My wife pointed out, that it’s what 99% of people want, pity I’m one of the 1%! All in all a nice place with nice people and nice food if it’s the type you want.

Great positioned hotel making it easy for exploring Peebles shops and walks, with use of the Peebles Hydro thrown in as part of the room rate. Friendly staff and really nice breakfast. Comfy bed and good sized room with a view of the surrounding hills and hotel garden with a grandstand view of the local bowling green thrown in.. very nice. Wife said "don't complain" but Unfortunately if you are over 5 foot 2 and like standing up in the shower without cricking your neck (as the wall/roof is coved inwards and a very cold /sticky shower curtain helps wake you up)....or if your waist is wider than a 30 inch waist you may find it difficult to get on / off and sit on the loo without either hitting the toilet holder on the wall side then dropping the loo roll on the floor.. or dinging your waist on the wash hand basin whilst having your legs held in place with the wash hand basin cold metal stand.. don't stay in room 90.... not sure how planning passed this layout.... for £185 a night i like a relaxing shower and safe No2 .. apart from that great stay..

Popped in for tea and cake. Lovely cup of tea , delicious piece of clementine sponge. Very nice young man served us and the toilets were immaculate. Highly recommend.

I have just returned from staying at the Park Hotel Peebles Scotland. I was told this is a very good posh hotel with excellent staff. I agree completely with endorsing the excellent staff comment, the staff are to be congratulated for the service they provide. The food was excellent. Having booked via Booking.Com a very expensive per night fee. The hotel has sadly seen better days, the whole stay experience was spoilt by the very tired lack luster decor and shabby furniture. The furniture chairs in the bar are so low it is almost unable to eat your meal in comfort. The staff I spoke to agreed with my comments. The hotel is apparently owned by a group. Very disappointed.

This is our second stay at The Park in Peebles. It is perfectly located in the town with ample car parking. It has friendly and attentive staff who work hard at making your stay comfortable. It also serves up an excellent breakfast to set you up for the day.

We had a very pleasant stay. During our stay there were no children or pets at the hotel. Excellent car park and garden area. Location ideal for walking into town. All staff very helpful and friendly.

A very comfortable and pleasant stay at a friendly hotel. We had a bit of a problem with a stained and torn sheet and duvet cover (and a dusty towel rail/radiator) but this was handled extremely well by receptionist Val who, gave us another (and much better) room without any quibble whatsoever. Excellent, tasty breakfasts in a calm atmosphere that benefited from guests having a timed slot - no crazy rushes at peak times. Didn't eat at the hotel but enjoyed great sausage rolls and scones from the bakery. Pleasant garden area with views up to the hills. Enjoyably quirky touches of decor - appreciated the teacup chandelier in the breakfast area. Nice bar, too. Plenty of free parking and town centre and riverside just yards away.
