Can't give The Royal less stars as I just love the place. My father used to treat his pals to a pint there eighty years ago. It's no fancy but on a Thursday night it's the place for me.
Good selection of Beer.Still has the centre bar - which is a really nice touch, until a busy Friday or Saturday then it is extremely difficult to get around, don't let that put you off though.

Absolutely felt at ease in this place, when you visit a city you're never sure what to expect from a pub but this was so lovely to sit and have a drink in, locals were their usual witty self, as you would expect, and the owner Steve was so friendly, not long had the place but friendly, drop in any time for a drink, if you don't want hustle and bustle then this is the place to go, excellent
