The menu tells you it's European Asian, but it's nothing like that...Imagine: bad quality chicken nuggets with rice and a simple kind of sweet & sour sauce in a take away cup for more than 12 £... to eat in.The whole menu is not easy to read!

Can only second the previous posts.As we arrived late in Portree, we had no reservation in any restaurant and ended up in that noodle bar.Overall a bad experience with overpriced and tasteless food, paper cups and all over the place waiter who tried clearing table while I was still eating. Depressing atmosphere as well.Only plus, food came quick.Avoid this place by all means!

A pleasant find on a cold rainy day. The Umami noodle dish was excellent. Noodles were just the right texture, chicken and beef tender and flavorful, vegetables perfect, broth rich. Large portion, good value, very good staff.

Our first night in Portree and we hadn't booked a restaurant. The only place available was No. 1 Noodles and Chinese and we thought we'd take a punt. Was suspicious when we were led upstairs to an empty restaurant. Were given the menu's and we could not make sense of it - definitely not Chinese with chicken nuggets and hamburgers on the menu. When I queried what was in the egg rice I was told just egg and rice no vegetables. The rest of my party were also uneasy and we made the call to leave the restaurant. Thank goodness we did after reading the reviews. If you find yourself unable to dine in a restaurant while in Portree, I suggest going to the supermarket and picking up something there. That's what we did and given we rented a home we had a very pleasant meal of soup and pasta. No.1 Noodles and Rice is not a Chinese restaurant and as some reviews suggest it looks like a front for some money laundering venture.

Absolutely loved our special udon noodles and belly pork with rice: super fresh and authentic. Beautifully friendly staff. We wanted to write a glowing review before even being aware of the previously ones....can't understand these..... Please do try yourself!

While browsing the menu, I was told this restaurant received bad reviews so we avoid what is not recommended. We ordered udon and beef noodles and it turned out to be good ?. The portion is big (beef noodles) enough for 2 if you are a small eater. The udon is tasty, meat is tender. Service is fast. There's no other Chinese restaurant to compare price?. Hot soup?, warm our tummy

Avoid the restraunt !!It's a small restraunt near the port. The manager does not treat its customers well at all. The food is not that good and they charge you more, for giving bad food.. they didn't give me chopsticks for some unknown reason while all the others had them can pay only cash plus special udoon noodles or not special at all

DO NOT EAT HERE! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.This is the worst food I‘ve ever had, it has nothing to do with Chinese food. Everything comes with frozen chicken nuggets. Most other things were from the frozen section as well. The owner is super rude and the price is so over the too. We paid £82 for 3 people and food that made us feel sick.Even if everything else is booked, do yourself a favor and get food from the CoOp market close by.

People on here need to manage their expectations a bit. No its not China town and yes it is a cash only Chinese crammed into the upstairs of a takeaway but hey you know that when you go in? The fact that most of the other people there at the time were actual Chinese was a good enough endorsement for us. We stubbled into here on a wet day in Portree. Portree and Skye are over run with tourist's at the best of times so trying to find a table for 6 on a lunch time on a wet day in July was never going to be easy. The staff here though were having none of it and re-shuffled the restaurant to accommodate us. We had a mixture of Chinese, Euro-Chinese and British food. All was ok. It was rather pricey but as above its the middle of the busiest tourist spot in Scotland so kind of expected it.

This restaurant is pure TRASH !!!!!!!!!! DONT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. I don’t even think the cooker has experience of cooking. They just waste the ingredients. No fk way this restaurant should exist. It just scam people who wanna get food.

Would not recommend eating in this establishment. Visited with my family and me and my daughter had chicken nuggets with rice and a sweet chilli sauce. The nuggets clearly came from a frozen packet. Rice was bland with no vegetables through it. My son had King prawns priced at £17. The small amount of prawns came on a lettuce leaf and nothing else. Our overall bill was £82 for a family of 4. Absolutely diabolical. Worst place I have ever been.

After we were searching for a restaurant for longer than an hour in Portree, we stumbled across this one. We got in and it was already half past eight but the waiter or owner (we’re not sure) offered us to take a seat anyway. He was super friendly as well. The 10% service charge everyone complains about was listed on the menu, so we weren’t surprised by that and since we were so happy that we finally got a table in some restaurant, we were more than okay to pay it!Our ordered food was freshly made and tasted very good. The rice was perfect!All in all we were very happy and grateful that we found a good place to eat.There were no surprises when we paid the bill at the end so everything was great. :)

Sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice turned out to be some chicken nuggets on a mound of white rice with a container of syrup. Would not recommend.Edit- strange that the 5 star reviews for this place mostly come from accounts that have only ever posted one review...
