We booked a table through Google on 18/12/23 and arrived to find notices on the window that the restaurant was open to Premier Inn residents only. Bookings shouldn't be accepted unless they can be honoured. Our group won't waste our time booking a table at the Brewer's Fayre in future.

Had the Christmas dinner & it was awful. Veg was hard & the roast potatoes weren't cooked

Disappointed with the food. Yes I know it's low budget but the spicy wings for starters were only warm, not hot. Had chicken salad for mains and the croutons were stale whilst the avocado had already started to turn brown. Partner had a side of fries which again were only warm and not hot. Thankfully a maccies near by for

Reasonably priced but food not great . Had the fish chips and mushy peas . Peas were solid , chips soft and not sure if the fish was even haddock . Looking at some of the other meals coming out I wasn't that impressed . Hope the breakfast is

So disappointed that they could not honour a large booking for breakfast this morning and when turn up on the day they say they can't take us. Clearly happy to throw away profits.

Excellent value for money. Staff really jolly and lovely. Served fast. Good came fast. Would visit here again. - in particular the Manager dealt with a couple who’s complaints were exaggerated- clearly born wingers after something for free - very patiently and with the utmost grace.

I was here today for lunch with four work colleauges. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming which was mainly due to the two lovely staff serving us. Our meals were great and I can't wait to go back to try the other dishes that my colleagues had. :-

Fantastic staff in a tired environment which did not make providing excellent customer service easy.

Turned up for a quick bite to eat before heading off on holiday the next morning. Waited at podium for 5-10 mins before being shown to our table and left to it. Staff all miserable. 30 mins for drinks to come, 60 mins for a curry and a burger to arrive. Curry was like soup. Burger was under cooked and over cooked at the same time. Black and red - how that is even possible I don't know. Possibly cooked on a radiator. Even my pint was flat and tasteless. Was also served the wrong drink at first and had to go wait at the bar to get it replaced. Place is dirty and sticky, spend your cash in McDs around the corner if you want a more gourmet experience. Wouldn't go back, even if I was paid.

Looking to go somewehere for an informal family get together we chose this Brewer's Fayre at South Queensferry largely on the back of the recent positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, that proved to be a big mistake and I'm finding it difficult to understand how the same business can be perceived so differently by so many people! We were a large mixed party of adults and children and had booked ahead. However the restaurant was pretty quiet when we arrived on a late sunday afternoon and we pretty much could have had our choice of table. On arrival we were left to wait at the podium for over five minutes before someone came to check us in. This should have rung alarm bells that all was not well in terms of staffing. No one explained the ordering procedure, we were just shown to a table and left and it was just as well we knew how things worked. Once we had ordered we received our drinks and starters within about 30 minutes, which was acceptable, but the mains took well over an hour to arrive and it would probably have been even longer if we had not complained at that point. We could see other diners who had arrived long after we had being served and suspected that something had gone awry in the kitchen. If the place had been busy or we had rocked up unannounced I could have understood this but that wasn't the case. While the food itself was generally OK (but not as good as other posts had led us to believe) , it was without exception luke warm and some of it had to be sent back and replaced (and that took an age to execute as well). We did receive a modest reduction on our bill but that's of little consequence. We had an unsatisfactory dining experience which spoilt our day and which ensures that we won't be going back to this particular restaurant. Poor and inattentive service, long waits and cold food don't really do it for me.
