Walking distance to everything. The room was spacious. Beds have a heavy comforter and could have used a lighter one in the room. Service was excellent as we had to leave prior to breakfast and they accommodated us. Beds were ok. Shower was ok. Service was great!!

Warning.... As it tells you on their website this hotel isn't accessible for unfit, disabled or elderly as it has no lift. We enjoyed our stay, the bed was comfy and the room was very clean. The staff very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed in the breakfast, especially myself with the eggs Benedict (boiled eggs not poached) and was just very basic. Suppose value for money I would say wasn't great considering what we paid for one night stay. But comfy bed and friendly staff made the stay fine for us.

Very well located. Unfortunately no own parking space, otherwise a good choice for a short stay.

Stopped for a couple of nights for a golf trip - perfect location to access the Auld course and the town pubs etc - only marked down due to lack of lift to upper floors and requirement to book a time for breakfastRecommended

The Ardgowan is an amazing boutique hotel less than 2 blocks from the Old Course. The location is amazing as it is a short walk to the Old Course, New Course and Jubilee and an equally short walk to the main restaurant and shops area of St. Andrews. The staff was amazing and super friendly. The included breakfast was amazing and either ala cart or buffet. This is a traditional bed and breakfast style hotel where the rooms are relatively small but if you are visiting St. Andrews to play golf like us you will spend very little time in your room so no reason to pay a huge premium for a larger room. We will be going back next year and will stay at the Ardgowan again. It's a gem of a place.

If I could give it more stars for location, I would. Perfect stay for playing golf in the area. The restaurant downstairs was really nice with excellent breakfast and pints in the afternoon. Very attentive bartenders!

We spent 4 nights at the Ardgowan Hotel in St Andrew’s and had a wonderful experience. Our original room faced the road. I went to the front desk, and told Andrew that during booking I had asked for a room in the back. He happily moved us to another room. Our room was at the top of the staircase. The room was large, had two beds, a king bed and a twin. The room had gorgeous views of St Andrew’s golf course and the sea. It was quite, cool and dark, perfect sleeping conditions for this insomniac! We had breakfast every morning and it was delicious. There was granola, yogurt, fruit, pastries and hot cooked offerings from the kitchen. The location was great for everything we wanted to do. Golf, shopping and site seeing. We had 4 wonderful days in St Andrews and throughly enjoyed the Ardgowan.

I was part of the 2023 St. Andrews Experience from The Golf Advisory Council. We enjoyed six wonderful nights at the Ardgowan Hotel. The hotel is in an amazing location next to golfing, shopping, restaurants and more. The breakfast each morning is delicious, and the staff in the hotel goes above and beyond to help. The housekeeping does a great job refreshing the room each day!

My company, The Golf Advisory Council, gives away a trip to St. Andrews each year. This is my second time staying at the Ardgowan Hotel. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. Every morning I get a complimentary breakfast at the restaurant. The staff at the restaurant is attentive and is on top of everything.Throughout St. Andrews, there are not many hotels that have a better location. Just a few doors down is the legendary Dunvegan Bar. Across the street from the Dunvegan is the best golf shop in town, Auchterlonies. And just down the street is tee box #1 and the 18th green of The Old Course.I will not go to St. Andrews without the Ardgowan Hotel being my first choice.

Terrible experience in St Andrews. Rooms and bathrooms are extremely small. Breakfast served daily is the worst I have ever had in Scotland, no matter what you order. All staff are not very helpful. Stay away as there are many better options in St Andrews.
