Takeaway coffee most times is warm at the least staff appear to not listen to your request except 1 young man blonde haired very nice and good at his job to the point of even remembering how many sweeteners I took. Scones and carrot cake very good traybakes not so much, I have been coming over from Dundee since 2020 and I’m a little disappointed with the takeaway service now needs looked at.

We came right at closing. They were already cleaning the coffee machine, but got it back out for us. Excellent latte! Whatever syrup brand they used was great -didn't taste like fake sugar like most do. I didn't get the scone, although it looked amazing. I might be back tomorrow for it.

Lovely friendly waitress . Not busy initially but still took quite a while to get baked potatoes. I had asked if coleslaw was home made as I don't like bought in stuff. When it arrived the coleslaw wasn't (I'm sure!) homemade and the potato was buried underneath so much of it . It was tuna and coleslaw and the potato was relatively small and everything was overwhelmed with the coleslaw which kind of spoilt it for me . I'd keep the 2 fillings separate tbh and maybe serve a bigger potato ? Not sure why it's served in a glass bowl either ! Just a few tweaks and could be really nice ? Waitress was very friendly and helpful ? Great coffee ☕ ?

It's very tight, little room for tables. The soup was warm, There was plenty in the soup. A good helping just should be hotter. Sandwich was good but wouldn't say it was the best. A bit chaotic to get to pay. We probably could have walked right out without them noticing until it was too late. ( I wouldn't recommend it though) . price was good, but food could have been better quality.

3 star review is the average of a stunning 5 star scone and a vile piece of carrot cake. The scone was honestly unforgettable, just delicious, the carrot cake was slathered in soapy tasting cream. The sponge tasted stale. Only one person was in front of me when I went in and I had to fight my way through a queue to get out. It does seem very confusing and a bit all over the place.

A lovely place in the heart of the town to enjoy light delights at a very reasonable price. On a blustery and solemn October day, I bought a cup of chicken soup and some breakfast tea. To my delight those provisions were accompanied with a fluffy and airy roll. If I have any major critique it is that I did not immediately see the sizable, atmospheric upstairs dining area, with its rustic wooden tables and old newspaper clippings plastered on the walls. The entire cafe seemed focused on takeaway, which is fine and makes sense given its central location, but I wish that I had been able to more clearly see the inviting dining area. There are a dozen satisfying cafes in St Andrews, but you will not be disappointed if you choose this one.

The Prince of Cambridge is a must try. The best scone I had. I like it served hot, and the berries in it waived the jam. It was so fabulous, I had scone twice there within my trip.

We queued behind two couples on arrival and had to wait about ten minutes to be served takeaway. One panini, three cakes and two drinks were all we wanted. One of the guys started cutting the bread in the shop and was told to take it behind to prepare. Over five minutes later, out he came with the panini and put it on the grill. Meanwhile, the other guy started serving a couple who'd come in behind us, who wanted two drinks. They were given them. As our server wanted to get to the cake counter to get one of the cakes, they were in the way but pointed out that they hadn't paid. Rather than telling their server, who was doing nothing, that he needed to sort payment, our server stopped serving us and started serving them. Only once he'd faffed about and taken their payment, did he start on our drinks: a tea and a white Americano; simple. By now, the panini had been in for fifteen minutes. One of our party, waiting outside, protested that we'd been waiting half an hour and one of the servers became threatening and came out of the shop to challenge him. Eventually, we were handed our order: an overdone Panini, three cakes with no serviettes or cutlery (for the sponge cake) and a white Americano... only ot was black. Only the tea,was acceptable. We were charged nearly £20 for this - although first given a figure of £14.Do not, under any circumstances, engage with this business: one totally incompetent server and one rude and unpleasant; neither with any idea how to carry out customer service.

The layout of this cafe was found to be very confusing especially as you have to wait in the same queue to eat in as you would takeaway. I would suggest moving the counter to face windows so there’s a clear divide between the two. We were horrified when one of the waiters (a tall blonde young man) was extremely rude to another member of staff who had printed the wrong receipt out for paying customers. The young man proceeded to snatch the receipt off his colleague, crumple it up in his hand and then threw it behind him on the floor before giving him a eye roll. This is no way acceptable to treat your colleagues like that and particularly in-front of queuing customers. Management needs to be taken seriously.

Waited 25 mins for a table after being told there was a 10 min waiting time. Decided to resort to takeaway due to waiting so long. Even then it took about an extra 15mins when there was no one in front of us!! The girl behind the counter was very slow in making one panini and two soups. The older members of staff came across very rude and clearly don’t have much experience in the hospitality business. Will not be rushing back any time soon, there are many other small cafes with polite staff and good food in St Andrews. Do not recommend!!
