Beautiful., ornate hotel. Comfortable, spacious rooms and helpful, friendly staff. We had magnificent views over the Old Course.5 minute walk to town centre with lots of cafes, bars and restaurants.Food was delicious at Rusacks. We would definitely return.

Had a blast at the Eighteenth Resto on top floor overlooking St Andrews and played The old Course next day. What a trip of a lifetime ?

I really enjoyed everything about this hotel. Right from the receptionist, waitresses, and cleaners. Everyone has exceptional customer service skills. The room was very clean and smell really good. The food was delicious and the hotel is just right in the middle of everything nice in St Andrews. The hotel was so good that they even sent a card and a bottle of wine ? for my Mr's birthday ? during our stay.Nearby activities: Old golf course, St Andrews aquarium, sandy beach ⛱️, St Andrews cathedral, golf ⛳️ museum, St Andrews University, etc.

Fantastic location, right next to the old course and just a short walk into the town centre. My room was of a good size and comfortable, though the bathroom was a bit chilly! Breakfast was very good!

Gave service 4 stars, as concierge went above and beyond on the evening of our stay, however, the service at breakfast maybe gets two stars maximum.Quirky and quaint but there were many negatives in the building generally, i.e. Hair in the shower, light fixtures flickering, heated floor not turned on, nobody answered phone to room service, upstairs bar tables had been removed so nowhere apart from a basement pub to have an evening drink. So many small annoyances, rattling taps, no drinks menus for the rooms, toilet flusher placed behind the seat, doors along the hallways every few rooms required room keys and were slammed as people walked at night. The most negative part of our stay however was the breakfast. We were seated quickly, ordered within fifteen minutes, and yet, it took over 45 minutes to make poached eggs on toast which were served cold, also, they ran out of orange juice quickly and never refilled. The smashed avocado was hardly seasoned and others had obviously thought the same as the salt and pepper on the table were empty. It took us so long to get the breakfast we didn't bother to complain. It's the little things that make a five star hotel, and this was not a five star hotel.

Had been looking forward to this visit for years! It didn't disappoint. However, could have been better served at breakfast. It appears a "printing fault" meant our order got lost. When it did arrive, it was not as ordered with some components overcooked to the point they were inedible and returned to kitchen . The man in charge did try hard to explain and did assist as much as he could. I would very respectfully suggest to him that he shouldn't really be so busy carrying plates etc.. Instead, he should monitor the ebb and flow of the room. Marshall his staff who were all really friendly, but sadly didn't seem quite focused.

This was a pricey place to stay, although if you looks at some of the smaller inns in St. Andrews, the amenities really make it worth a little extra money. Warning, if you get a room facing the courtyard where they keep the dumpsters, every couple hours someone pours a few dozens rattling bottles into the trash. Not ideal during a peaceful getaway. Our room was huge with a nice large bathroom. Outside of a pretty week AC unit, nothing but rave reviews for the room. The rooftop bar and basement pub were my favorite features. Conner, the mixologist in the upstairs bar is by far, the coolest and most skilled bartender we have ever met. Bloody Mary or Spicy Margarita, just watching him mix a drink is thrill by itself.

Visited here this afternoon I had been gifted a voucher for afternoon tea . When we arrived the porter hadn't a clue where we had to go and pointed us towards the lift. When we arrived at restaurant we were shown to our table quickly enough and informed chef would get our tea together this is where the delay started when he came back with the afternoon tea we had to ask for drinks which again took time to arrive .Very disappointed in the experience and especially when we were leaving the waitress was very rude to us not something I expected but it confirmed that Rusacks is somewhere I won't be visiting again

We enjoyed overall excellent quality service. The restaurant on top floor has amazing views over the Old Course and St Andrew's Bay, and offers excellent food.

The experience was so bad, except for the ‘18’, that it almost became funny. The saving grace was Michaela who listened intently and acted very professionally. I don’t think the new US owners really get what a top class hotel should offer. Our advice would be to not stay on the first floor due to noise, probably not stay in the older, expensive, but lovely golf view rooms as a lot of the bits and pieces don’t work and be very wary of the breakfast. A really beautiful spot let down by staff incompetence and lack of attention to detail.

I stayed at rusacks last week for 3 nights. I had a problem with adequate flow of water in the shower. I was in the old section of the hotel and the room was small but clean and very nicely decorated. The shower did not work very well. The water would flow for 30 seconds and then shut off and not come back on for 2-5 min. It was virtually impossible to take a shower and wash and rinse. I reported this to the front desk and was told an inquiry would be opened. The problem continued made it impossible to take an adequate shower. I reported this and the gm offered 1 free night. This is not great because I have no idea if I will ever stay in st Andrew’s again. I believe a credit for 1 night would be more appropriate. This is a first class hotel with inadequate showers in at least 1 room
