Oh well, I would not agree with all the 5-star reviews people had posted before me. The burgers from Saints Sizzle were good but not extraordinary. Five guys and Shake Shack present incredible burgers. The burgers we had were somewhat salty and soggy. The cheese fries were very salty and not crunch at all.As for the shake, the portion was quite small. The staff was pleasant though. He said he had to get the owner's permission to provide student discount.

VEGANS AVOID!I was lured in by a long menu of plant based options. After paying for our order I was informed the bun had cow’s milk in it and was not vegan. I would never have ordered a burger without a bun. They were unwilling to refund or give a discount on my order. Only fork no knife with a £9.50 sad burger.Let us pay at the end rather than the start so I am not tricked. Also no toilet roll in the toilet but edible chips and good view.

*Smashed Fries* are a must.Compared the originals to smashed with the chefs recommendation and we were not disappointed! Soooooo crispy. Jalapeño burgers are our fave. Dog friendly ????

One of the most charming burger places. It is by the ocean tucked in a corner that is not easy to find. The food is very good. The music is great. And the sound of the waves is

Lovely succulent burgers here, delivered piping hot with big portions of chips. The place itself needs a good sprucing up though - it’s dirty and cold in there and not very comfortable.

just back from saints sizzle and had to go straight on to review the food.... absolutley fantastic smash burger, exactly what it should be when ordering a burger, fries were crisp golden and seasoned perfectly, american lady at another table said it was the best burger she had since landing in scotland,Vegetarian options: plenty plant based options available for the alternative diets

The look and feel of a 1960s burger shop with the food to match in look and taste.

This place blew me away with the quality of food. So happy with the vegetarian options. Both burger and chips were amazing. I went back there this morning while walking past and met the owner James (while one of his staff was giving the fryer the scrubbing of a lifetime. I worked in restaurants for twenty years growing up and that was the cleanest I‘ve seen!). He was willing to take the time to explain just why the chips are some of the best I’ve ever had. I won’t share the secret-ask him yourself. The passion he and his staff put into the food is evident. Cannot recommend highly enough

Update: Downgraded to 1 star for poor response from the owner! I was holding back in my review: your burgers are the definition of mediocre and bland. Hands down one of the worst burgers I've eaten. If you as a chef cannot take the heat, perhaps get out of the kitchen ;).Anyway, I highly recommend any prospective customers try out the other nearby burger place in town. Clearly far nicer people working there. Same price point but actually enjoyable and high quality.Original review:We gave this place a shot after seeing the glowing reviews and were excited for a scrumptious burger. Unfortunately, I don’t understand the hype around Saint Sizzle. Both our burgers lacked juiciness and caramelisation of the patty. There was no caramelisation on the fried onions either. This lead to a dry burger with a distinct lack of umami flavour. We didn’t like the fries either- too sweet tasting from using a high starch content potato. The type of burger you get here is very reminiscent of Five Guys (which I despise due to the dry texture and blandness). If you love Five Guys and underwhelming burgers, you’ll like probably like Saint Sizzle.

A great trip down memory lane. Thank you. You guys know how to flip burgers. You perfectly captured the essence of a good hamburger experience. I never thought I would find In-N-Out grade material in Europe. It’s in St Andrews. With wonderful views, great music, lovely staff, and outstanding fries. Keep up the good work!

Run don’t walk to saint sizzle!!We just had lunch here and seriously it was the best burger and milkshakes I’ve ever had!!! They have a great wee menu with vegan options, a lovely wee dine in area and James was just so so friendly. I highly recommend saint sizzle for your next burger fix.Vegetarian options: Great plant based optionsKid-friendliness: Heart for kids we had our 9 month old and there was plenty of high chair’s available and easy access with the pram.

I wish I'd taken a photo, but my son and I were eating it on the drive back home in the dark. Absolutely mouth watering burgers, and the fries! ? my 10 year old rated his meal "20/10 *chefs kiss* I only wish we'd tried the milkshakes, but will definitely be back again. All star service, too. Couldn't fault them at all!

Outstanding food, excellent price and great service. Probably the best burger you will get in Scotland. Faultless food.

Our extended family of 3 adults and 5 children (ranging from 10 to 6 years old) ate here one Thursday lunchtime in January. We were visiting the aquarium to entertain the children during the school holidays and decided on this restaurant for lunch. It's just at the side of the aquarium building which you can reach from the gift shop or if you're not visiting the aquarium there are a set of steps down to the restaurant outside. Inside there were 5 small tables and one large table just perfect for our group. It's a bright and airy space with more seating space downstairs next to the toilets perhaps for peak season or events. After being seated, we could tell the restaurant just had one staff member working (the chef). Some people who had sat down decided to leave after waiting and not receiving any service. Big mistake for them! At most we waited 10 to 15 minutes to place our order (with the chef). Being seated at the table next to the big window we just enjoyed the views of the St Andrews shore line and the crashing waves. We then waited another 10 minutes or so for our burgers, fries and drinks which were brought out (by the chef). The first thing we noticed was the proud presentation of the meal by the chef which he did for every table. He didn't look unhappy nor flustered. The meal came in a neat basket with sauces (including proper vinegar - yum!) and cutlery. It was not thrown to you in hurry (though you'd forgive the chef if he did as he was working there on his own). And then... WOW! The burgers were amazing, so tasty, soooo good! It took me back to a Puerto Rican burger joint in New York City. The patty was sublime and you could taste the quality of the meat as it crumbled in your mouth. We went for the regular classic cheese burgers and the Saints Sauce was this perfect mix of tomato and mayonnaise I think - it was such a moist burger to the very end. The toasted soft bun and foil wrapping which the burger comes in means everything is held in nicely. It wasn't one of those burgers where you're trying to figure out how the heck you'll fit the whole thing in your mouth - it was just the right size, quite filling and super value for money for the taste alone. Fries were delicious and generous (like Five Guys but at the fraction of the price), tasty and crispy. I'm regretting not looking at the menu properly so I'll just need to go back and try their other burger varieties. I had food envy as I watched these three young students devour their burgers at the table next to us who had clearly known about this place as the wait didn't bother them at all. All this and did I mention it was just O N E staff working? Not only did we see him serving his restaurant diners but we also saw him making orders for collection and the aquarium staff too! Well compliments to the chef for everything and he should be proud of the great quality food and service he put out there on that day. We certainly enjoyed it!

Been here twice already and already wanting to go back. Both times were amazing. Service was a little slow, but the food more than made up for it. I guess that you can’t rush perfection.
