One of the best meals we've had in a long time, despite loving our food and eating out often! The pork loin was to-die-for and I will certainly be trying to recreate this beautiful combination at home! Perfectly cooked by an incredibly talented chef and more than worth every penny! The owners are also super lovely and very knowledgeable about their great whisky selection!Dietary restrictions: They catered for my nut allergy beautifully!

This is the second time I’ve visited in the last 6 weeks. I ordered the same thing again as it was so good and I’ve been dreaming of it ever since. The pecan & seaweed encrusted salmon is unbelievable! Please never take it off the menu. The sides with it are perfect too. Every dish on the menu sounds so amazing!!! This is not your average pub grub. The Chef is special, please keep him forever!!!

My brother, his two sons & I ate dinner at the Tavern after a day of golf. Mostly locals but they made us feel welcome. The menu favors sea food. Two of us had their ‘haddock & chips’ and it was very good. Would recommend this place as an alternative to eating in St Andrews

What a find. Great welcome from the moment I walked in. The owner, had great knowledge of his product and his enthusiasm for food and beverage simply shines through. Louise served in the restaurant with charm, finesse and friendliness. Anywhere that offers a huge garlic scone as an amuse bouche is off to a flier in my book. The starter of king scallops and black pudding served on a bed of pea jus was sublime and the fresh and light Albariño only enhanced the flavours messing with my senses. The melt in your mouth steak pie which followed, with hand cut chips and deliciously presented seasonal veg- forced the procurement of a beautiful fruit driven Rioja crianza. Heaven, and two bites into the starter I booked again for 2 days later. I could have had any one of the desserts but plumped (appropriate) for the meringue, strawberry ice cream and Chantilly and Graham sneaked me an off piste glass of Aus Chardonnay dessert wine. The cost of all of this was ludicrously fair given the incredible quality of ingredients and skill deployed in preparing and presenting to guests. I waddled home incredibly happy. Seriously, a very high benchmark has been set for all local hostelries. Thank you.

So friendly and quaint and totally relaxing after a full day at the golf course. Totally worth the short drive from st Andrews and you wont regret it. Enjoyed some Friday nite music as well. Food was great and the view across the road is fantastic.

Fantastic food, highly recommend the mushroom haggis starter! Service was great and no need to ask for table water as it is served.

The atmosphere is very friendly. Scallops were lovely, the black sausage was cooked to perfection. Fish pie was great just would like to have a little more of the delicious sauce. Salmon with pecan crust was. A little underdone but was fixed quickly by the kitchen. The portions were generous, I even left some! The mango sorbet and coffee affiliations were both well done to perfection.
