I have eaten fish and chips at several places in the UK, some of them absolutely fabulous, but this one is in my top 3 worst, actually it might be the worst. For starters an assistant with very long acrylic nails is not appropriate from a hygiene point of view a manager should not allow that. The sausage was a grey thing that tasted bland, I threw most of it away it was quite stomach churning - the batter was undercooked, mushy and with a weird taste. The chip were a miserable portion and they were very undercooked and astonishingly when we got back to the place we were staying, the meal was nearly cold despite that we were only a few minutes away. The chips had a very weird taste and I think that must be down to the oil. I think this place benefits from its location and gets custom due to that, but I think that this restaurant needs to go back to basics, buy better quality products such as better sausages and pizzas and retrain in how to make fish and chips.

A very small portion of chips, but the chips were not nice. Undercooked, luke warm and not tasty. The fish was ok. The battered sausage didn't look very nice and tasted of not a great deal, but the batter and sausage were unpleasant texture and the batter was definitely undercooked. Whoever is doing the cooking is not cooking the items hot enough, nor keeping them at a high enough temperature, hence the batter is soggy and unpleasant, the chips so undercooked and they then go cold. Very disappointing because this is a lovely area to stay and we were so looking forward to a treat from a fish and chip place. This place is letting the town down.

The worse fish and chips ever, over priced too. Only 1 fish in the supper and the tiniest portion of chips ever and half were under cooked, totally drowned in vinegar that all you could taste was strong cheap vinegar, it was pouring out the bag, the curry sauce was like water and even that tasted of vinegar. Avoid at all cost.

This is a great fish and chip shop. Great customer service. Cooked to order. Fish portions are a little small and chip portions are med/large depending on appetite. There is an option for two pieces of fish with a slight discount. They also do chicken, burgers, haggis and fried pizza! Price is about the same as anywhere else, in fact cheaper than my local in Oxfordshire. Option to eat in if you wish. When we arrived it was very busy but we got our order within 20 minutes.

DO NOT get the pizza. Basically a frozen pizza with all the topping disappearing when it’s battered. So deep fried cheap bread. Just bizarre. Also put a ton of salt on the pizza and none on the chips?!

After 2 weeks in Scotland and Ireland I can say this was by far the best fish and chips we had. Delicious.

Was told pizza base was homemade, maybe homemade in a factory down south, second time trying this place in recent week and won’t be back. Only place for takeaway open on a Saturday night. No compation no quality also fish was burnt through the batter ?

Went in search of fish n chips & saw special fish which was battered n breaded. We ordered 3 portions as well as a large chips n peas. The fish was amazing -very crispy & although the chip portion was on the small side it was all we needed as the fish was plenty. The large chips n peas was sufficient & we were given 4 peas free of charge. We would definitely recommend this chippie- the fish were absolutely lovely - one of the best we’ve tasted.

We were in Scotland for 2 weeks. This is the best haddock fish and chip We ever had in Scotland. Hand battered, hand cut chips and freshly made and worth the wait. The price and portions were great as well.

Never have I paid so much so so few chips. Rather than cook fresh chips the boss man split the few remaining chips into 2 portions. What a rip off

3 German hikers in search of a good fish n chips. I have to say, dont believe all the one star reviews, the food was good, only the communication was a bit difficult (which is more our fault).

I approached this chippy and was met by the most rude and unapproachable staff , 2 hours before closing they are saying they have ran out of food a chippy in this area should be able to buy in enough stock however it was clear the staff were just too lazy to cook , there was 7 of us and they have lost out on a lot of money which you think would be helpful to a business, local pubs were also saying the chippy doesn’t serve food any later than 6

Omg what can I say …. The worst customer service ever …. Rude…. I ordered 2x fish and chips and a sausage and chips , curry sauce and mushy peas. ( well we get to the food in a bit ) She wrapped one fish and chips and than tried to give me another what was sitting on the site for a bit from a previous customer which I kindly declined. I asked for a fresh one. I than got shouted at , it was only there for 2 seconds, believe me it was not. She than shouted … I have to throw it in the bin . Well yes as I don’t want it . Food …… well the fish was ok , but everything else was just tasteless and on top of that for the money we paid , tiny portions.
