We didn't have a booking and it was obviously busy but they gave us a table in the bar area. The staff were great and very friendly. Service was excellent. We had scallops to start, seafood pancake and haddock/chips as mains. It was absolutely lovely and well priced. I would have no hesitatation in recommending this great value restaurant.

Went in for a quick bite and to stretch legs after 6 hours of ride on motorcycle thru Scotland. They were just opening at 5 pm, but the place filled in quickly. Good service and great food. Highly recommended ?

Despite their website indicating that dinner is served until 8 PM, I encountered a disappointing situation when I arrived at 19:45. I was informed that, in reality, they close at 19:30. This inconsistency is a significant inconvenience for patrons who rely on the website's information. When I suggested to the employee that they should update their website to reflect accurate hours, their response was rather unhelpful: 'Our schedule is on the door.' While this may be practical for locals, it's hardly a useful solution for travelers or those not residing in the area who rely on online information. This experience left me frustrated and inconvenienced, as it disrupted my plans. I strongly recommend that they rectify this issue promptly to avoid similar disappointments for future patrons.

We were staying in a guesthouse near this restaurant and were advised to go. I rang in advance to order a seafood platter in order to not be disappointed in not having all the shellfish we wanted. The manager John Henry took my call and he was very, very obliging. I requested lobster, crab, tiger prawns, king prawns, langustines and muscles. All of which arrived on a huge share platter for my husband and I along with bread and chips. It was outstanding and we can't fault anything. Our overall experience here was excellent from the service to the food. All staff were very polite, friendly and attentive, the restaurant was immaculate and even though it took us nearly 2 hours we managed to eat the whole lot. No before photos only one afterwards. We will definitely recommend here to everyone including Gordon Ramsey! Let's see him fault here....it's absolutely spot on! Thank you for an amazing experience.

Visited Henry’s for Sunday Lunch. Nice selection of food and offered a menu a little different than usual ‘roast’ options. Pleasant surroundings and had room to breathe between tables. Lovely food, well prepared and presented. Reasonably priced so for 2 mains, desserts and coffee was £47. Staff were friendly and attentive.

This has to be one of my favourite dining experiences. My partner and I were visiting Stranraer for the first time in ages and asked a local for recommendations on where to dine. Whilst Henry's wasn't mentioned, we saw it as we arrived in the town and liked the variety of the menu and the location. On enquiring about booking, (on a busy Saturday night), we were met by the owner who was extremely courteous and welcoming and accommodated us at a time mutually acceptable to us both. We were warmly greeted on arrival and the team, (described as so, because that's what they are?), attended to us immediately. The menu is varied and inspired and includes a number of fish dishes and daily specials. I chose the seafood pancake whilst my partner opted for the daily special of hake risotto - both were superb, loaded with seafood cooked to perfection and accompanied by side dishes of vegetables and home made chips. We were very pleased with our choices, the care and attention from the staff, the ambiance of the venue and the value for money. What more can I say?

My wife Leigh and I were there when Joanne B's party left on Friday night. We asked to be moved the minute we were shown to our table nearby when the obviously distressed baby was crying. The boss lady was, in my view, diplomatic and polite but to no avail..... Anyway: The food was spot on, as was the service and we'll definitely be back next time we're headed for the ferry. Don't read too much into the previous review... Read the many, many 5 star reviews. They're by far the better measure of this restaurant.

Been here half a dozen times over the last few years, food is good although service is slow. Booked a meal and were seated, 8 adults 6 children. Only one of the children under the age of 7. Children all sat well and 2yr old shouted for about 2mins from frustration waiting. We were distracting her and appeasing her. Very rude owner came over and harshly asked what we can do to make her be quiet. So shocked and embarrassed by this my sister was welling up with tears. She was rude and patronising and we decided to leave. We offered to pay and left. There was 100% not excessive noise and we were mortified to be treated so disgustingly. There was no shouting or scene from us we just decided to leave as its not a friendly place. Nobody went off their rocker nor did we jump to Facebook for sympathy and reputation saving. See photos...This restaurant serves half decent food at twice a reasonable price and thinks its some mitchellin star place. If you are anythin other than a snob i would steer very very clear.
