A very disappointing experience. My wife has coeliac disease and they did not have any gluten free cakes. She asked if she could buy one from a nearby bakery to have with her coffee and was firmly told no. We cancelled my order and left. The cafe had about 4 customers in it. We found a far more welcoming cafe close by which was quite busy and catered for coeliac sufferers.

A lovely wee tea room. Got afternoon tea and was astonished. Great value for money, delicious cakes, and excellent service. Will be coming again.

Cold and unwelcoming coffee shop in dire need of new tables. We got here around 4pm and ordered 3 cappuccinos which were awful. Dark brown, watery with a little bit of froth. We questioned if we had actually received cappuccinos to be told we did, we were surprised as for sure the cup of dark brown liquid is nothing like any cappuccino I’ve tasted anywhere. We were informed ‘well that’s what a cappuccino is here’ . Even when extra milk was sarcastically brought to the table the coffee was still undrinkable .Did we get a discount, of course not. Just another sarcastic encounter with a stafff member who clearly could not wait to get us off the premises. Is this our first visit? No, we used to visit Strathaven regularly and have had a number of lunches here but there are now far more superior places to enjoy coffee (sadly they close early)so this really is the last choice of coffee shop. Save yourself the disappointment and bypass.

We tried this cafe yesterday as we had been a few years ago & it wasn't bad however we were hugely disappointed yesterday with the food & tbh the prices were shocking 2 x cheese & pickle toasties( 1 with chips so £1 extra) 1 x baked potato with tuna, a latte, a water, diet coke can £34.95 we had waited outside while hubby paid the bill I was shocked at the price!!!!! So if u visit Strathaven please AVOID as the food wasn't great & prices way over the top!!!!!Vegetarian options: I had cheese & pickle toasties was horrible I couldn't eat it but hubby ate it salad at the side wasn't too bad wouldn't recommend it.

We visited for some takeaway coffee on our drive through Strathaven. The service was really quick and the lady with the glasses who served us was really polite and kind. Very reasonably priced as well. Thank you!

Very disappointed. We went there because our favourite cafe in Strathaven, the Drawing room was closed. Wish we hadn't, the place looked tired, service was uber slow, has to leave after waiting for nearly an hour, and they had the cheek to take money from us for 2 mediocre flat whites. I would avoid, even if there is nowhere else open

1st visit back to this cafe since Covid. It was a fiasco. My husband ordered a cheese & pickle sandwich and I ordered a chicken brie and cranberry toastie along with 2 teas. Our teas were brought to the table and then we sat for 30 minutes before our food arrived. The sandwich was cheese and baked beans (not on the menu) and the toastie was chicken and baked beans so we sent them back. After another 3 people came to check what our order should have been we eventually got a cheese and pickle sandwich and a chicken toastie (no brie or cranberry) which was burnt and dry. Nobody asked if our teas were OK after our long wait and they were stone cold. We were not happy. The couple at the next table waited ages for soup and had heard the carry on with our order. When their soup arrived it was also cold so they walked out as they didn't have time to wait. The place is a total shambles. Someone in authority really needs to be there on a Sunday as we had the same experience the last time. If you're only in for a coffee and cake fine but meals are a different story. Sorry but we used to enjoy this place.
