Been to Taal a few times, both dine in and takeaway. Mixed bag of service and food quality but we thought we would give another chance...... 1 hour 30 mins to arrive (initially informed 40 minutes) with 2 calls to chase, assured after each call it was a couple of mins away (just not true). When it arrived, food was luke warm and the lamb was so tough and overcooked that it could not be eaten. Not a fan of receiving pass-off comments of "it's 2 minutes away" when it's simply not true. So, in summary, similar experience to previous visits.

This was the first time we visited this restaurant. The food was very good but the service could have been better. I asked for no coriander and the start came loaded with it. It was sent back for a replacement. In general I'd come back as the food was very good. Some of the serving staff need to improve their listening skills.

We had been a couple of months ago and vowed then never to go back as the dahl curry which had always been good, was utterly tasteless and just tasted salty. However we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt and visited again. We arrived and the older man who is always there, perhaps the owner, took us to our seat. There was no sense of welcome, unlike in the past when it used to be so friendly. We ordered from the vegan menu - cauliflower pakora and were told that one of the dips was not vegan! We asked the waitress to replace it. We ordered two curries - mine was a vegetable shashlik - huge lumps of veg with a sauce on the side - and my partner’s was a vegetable curry which looked and tasted dull and unappealing. There was also far too much food which we couldn't eat. I wouldn’t normally criticise that but you just didn’t want to eat it all! The place wasn’t busy but the wait was far too long. We left and the older man didn’t even say thanks and goodbye. Not a good experience

Food, service and atmosphere are always excellent! Take away food is also fantastic! Had many dishes and never been disappointed, would definitely recommend.

It was a lovely experience dining at taal, the food was good, the service was crisp, and the icing on the cake was the friendly staff they have, they make make you comfortable like home while dining. It's a must visit for me again.

Our local Indian. Never disappoints and the food was excellent. I particularly like the pulled chucked spring rolls which are never on the menu but just ask for them.

Having had a lovely day out, we finished our day here. We had been before which was just after lockdown and had a fantastic meal with great staff, so we thought it would be the same again, how wrong were we? Having arrived at 4-15pm we ordered the pre-theatre, starter was ok at best this is when I started to notice that some of the staff were watching us at all times, every time I looked up the older man was watching from an open doorway. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable, my friend had her back to him so never seen this. One of the staff came to take our starter plate away while I was still eating. We then asked for a 10 min break between courses, this didn’t seem to go down too well. The main courses came and we cannot fault them they were both lovely. Again I was getting watched with every mouthful of food I had, this was starting to put me off my food, my friend then ordered another small wine. Once we finished eating we were letting our food settle while my friend finished her wine. A member of staff then came and slapped the bill on the table, we hadn’t asked for the bill at this time, but we never questioned it. By this time the restaurant was getting busier but by no means was it full, there were still a few empty tables. At 6-15 the man who had spent most of his time staring at me then came up to us and asked us to leave as they needed the table, both of us were extremely embarrassed by this. As we were leaving someone who was sitting near the entrance, who we think was the owner said “ goodbye I hope you enjoyed your meal” my friend who was extremely angry by this time then told him what had just happened, he apologised and said that they must have been needing the table, this I couldn’t understand as there were still plenty of empty tables, but even if this was the case if they had mentioned to us when we arrived that they needed the table back for a certain time we wouldn’t have taken as much time. They could have also asked us to finish our drinks elsewhere if they needed the table so urgently.Overall the food was good, but the staff were extremely rude and this spoiled my meal. After our first visit we told all our friends about this place we will now be telling them not to bother. After spending £50 on 2 pre-theatre meals that were totally spoiled by rude staff we left and neither us or any of our friends will return.

We absolutely love this restaurant, have been for pre theatre/ had takeaway (tonight) and also experienced just pakora etc when they have been entertaining the locals etc (with live music during hangerfest and gala day ) and at all times the food/service/price paid has been exceptional.
