What an amazing and fabulous place! So much history. The food is just wonderful, and the service is lovely. In Summer there is a terrace overlooking the river, and in Winter, the cosiness and warmth of this ancient building shine through.

We went last week for afternoon tea, we arrived with a pram, which was no problem. Savourys where lovely, even a cup of homemade soup & followed by cakes & scones , all homemade & delicious. I like them served separately with clean plates. Plenty of fresh tea, a very pleasant couple of hours spent. Didn't feel rushed at all.

What an amazing place. The food is fantastic. The staff very friendly. Overall a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Went for afternoon tea which was very good. The sandwiches were freshly made and the homemade cakes were delicious. We had to ask for a takeaway box they were so nice. Looking forward to visiting again next year so can appreciate the surroundings bit better. Had a sneak peak at the accommodation which is very luxurious. Highly recommend if your in the area

The most amazing afternoon tea! This was a mini wedding anniversary celebration. So..where do we start? Don't think a few sarnies and scones...think Fortnums High tea with old world charm. The first course is savoury and we were right not to have breakfast in order to do it justice. The sweet course looks like they raided the WI cupboard with a fantastic range of homemade cakes. The atmosphere is friendly, attentive and comfy. The food exceptional and not gimmicky. We are telling everyone we know to visit.

This was my first visit for afternoon tea booked as a treat for my cousins birthday. I completely agree with previous visitors that this was the best afternoon tea I have had and very good value ! Lots of lovely home made food including hot quiche, delicious soups, sandwiches, tosties and cakes. There was a lovely welcome too and will look forward to my next visit !!

Visited here with a few friends on Saturday and I must say I wasn’t that impressed. We all ordered separately but from the 5 of us only one ordered food (a full English breakfast). This, which I believe tasted fine arrived about 10 minutes after being ordered which is fine, the issue however is that it took at least another 10 - 15 minutes after that for the 3 coffees that we had ordered between us to be delivered to our table. The tearoom was not busy when we were there, probably another 3 or 4 people in there in addition to us so I personally don’t think that a 25 minute wait on a few coffees is that great.

Celebrated my sisters 40th birthday here with an afternoon tea. The savoury and sweet options were all delicious, full of flavour and homemade! The tearoom is in a great location along the river and full of character. Overall a lovely place, will definitely be back to try out more of the menu!

We have visited previously. Having been so impressed then, decided a return was long overdue. As always the service is fantastic. The staff are an asset to the company. Utterly amazing and wonderfully attentive. The team accommodated our requirements seamlessly. The food was well presented, and tasted superb. ( Afternoon tea/ quiche). We had our dog with us on this occasion, and would like to convey our thanks for making him so welcome. Thank you for such an excellent experience. Would highly recommend.

We chose Bishop Percy's as a place to go for an afternoon tea, celebrating with our daughter on her special birthday, and I'm so glad we did. We all said that it was the best afternoon tea we've ever had. So tasty and plenty to eat, we asked for a box to take some cake home for later! There's lots of other delicious food on the menu if you didn't want afternoon tea. It's a lovely place and we all enjoyed it very much .

Lovely oldy worldly coffee shop, which serves great cakes and light lunches. Fair prices and very clean! Occasionally run out of sponge cakes, which is annoying.

We always look forward to our weekly breakfast (& occasional lunch) at Bishop Percys. The 16th Century building has been sympathetically furnished and there is always a warm welcome. Nothing is too much trouble when a variation to the menu is requested, providing it's in stock. The food is freshly prepared and we can't fault it.The staff are happy and friendly so there is always a pleasant atmosphere where there is a good mixture of locals and visiting tourists.Definitely worth a visit - breakfast, lunch or even a coffee and homemade cake.
