The chances of parking in front of the pub are slim at best however there is ample parking a short walk away. The walk is worth it 5 stars for everything infact it is worth i walk just for the White chocolate and raspberry bread and butter pudding.

OMG, the best steak n ale pie we have ever had. Its absolutely gorgeous ,lean and massive, served with fresh veg and PROPER chips. Staff very friendly and professional. A local recommended it and what a great recommendation it was.

lovely staff were very welcoming of us and our dog , gave her fusses and treats , food was lovely and portion was big dad couldnt stop complimenting it , wanted to see outside but weather was very cold so will go back in the warmer months!Parking: i believe therewas street parking but was busy and none when i went, however there was a parking lot near by which we paid like 1.20 for an hour (:

Revisited The Old Castle for lunch today. Warm welcome on arrival, quick, efficient and friendly service. I had the steak and ale pie, my wife had the fish pie. Both were excellent and the steak pie was not only a proper plateful but really tasty with chunks of steak and rich gravy. I don't think we'll leave it so long before we're back again. And, oh yes the card machine doesn't try and electronically mug you for a tip. ?

Fantastic food. Does get hot in the restaurant with how busy it gets so wear layers! The food is always top quality in taste, presentation and size. Come here often. Good selection of drinks. Lovely with the fire on but also in the summer in the garden. Pork belly is my favourite at the moment and we shared mussels in a creamy white wine sauce with fries and bread roll for starter and my husband had hunters chicken for main washed down with a pint of Laines and half a thatchers gold. Yum!
