We came for Sunday lunch, what we had we really liked. However why not have a proper vegetarian roast option? Other than that, its a very nice place with great views of the river.

Disappointed by the drop in standards from a food and service perspective. Perhaps our lack-lustre meal was due to pressures exerted by the recent poor weather. I hope so. The menu is tired. The same old things appear week after week, which, if you live locally, is a complete bore. Not only is the menu repititious, the standard is dropping. That said, the food quality, sourced locally, is good enough, but do not expect much more than pub- meets-bistro quality. Long gone are the days when Ludlow was a bastion of food excellence.

Nice Hotel on the river at Ludlow. Booked for an evening meal and had a great time. Excellent food and nice atmosphere. Dog friendly as well.

Lovely position overlooking the river. Service was efficient without being intrusive and complimentary water (still and sparkling) was offered immediately. Food came in generous portions, was very tasty and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Just had a lovely mini-break at the Charlton Arms - lovely room with a balcony over the river (shame the weather meant we could not make the most of it). Room was clean, tidy, well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with a good range of tasty, quality food. We had one evening meal at the hotel that was very tasty - good food without being fussy/ over complicated. The only minor downside was that we felt rushed by the manageress in charge of the restaurant - undoubtedly she is very efficient, but the feeling of being in a hurry jarred with the rest of the feel of the restaurant. Ludlow is a great spot to visit with many interesting shops/ streets/ views.

Fantastic renovation while keeping the style fitting for a lovely English town. The hotel rooms are stunning (and highly recommend room 13, it's not unlucky, trust me). It's also on the more peaceful side of the town, combined with the gentle river flow, I don't think there is a more relaxing way to spend a night!

Our room was modern and tastefully decorated. The bathroom had a walk in shower with plenty of hot water. The balcony overlooked the iconic Ludford bridge ( war of the roses fame) . The food was excellent and staff very helpful. It is only a few minutes walk into historic Ludlow. We can highly recommend the Charlton Arms for an amazing break.

Delicious roast beef lunch (17/09/23) Puddings also yum! Staff were all very friendly & attentive especially to our 1 year old daughter. 100% recommend, cant wait to go back. Great work everyone!

Although most of the food was very good, one of our members beef was very sinuey and hard to cut and chew. When we reported this to the waitress she said she would pass that on to the chef. We heard nothing more. So very disappointing, as we've enjoyed eating there in the past but probably won't go again.

The quality of the food was outstanding, the Moroccan lamb spring rolls were fantastic. Service was great and very efficient and friendly.

Lovely food and great service. Parking was however difficult and menu was very limited especially if can't eat sea food. Also asked for occasion on booking but no mention during visit.

We have booked 2 night in 2 rooms here, as it was a very last minute booking for the Food Festival weekend, so we booked what was available. The place has really surprised, the rooms were absolutely fantastic. Othello - has a spacious terrace with a bathtub and the room itself was beautiful Balthazar - a smaller room but equally lovely. Both rooms were equipped with A/C which we welcomed with relief, as the weekend was a hot one. Both also had a Nespresso coffee machine ! The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and made us feel so very welcome. parking was onsite and we were able to leave the car there the morning we arrived, which was great help to us. Overall a fantastic stay and we would definitely be back again!

Strangely lacking in atmosphere and seeming to be struggling to find any personality - very difficult to strike up any sort of rapport with the restaurant team. We got the feeling the maitre d would rather have been anywhere else! Noticeably different to everywhere else we've visited in the area - a real shame.
