Slow. No reflection on the sole staff member who was working so hard but expecting her to serve at the bar, deliver meals and clear tables was unrealistic. Ordered via the app, which was surprisingly easy, but took over 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Again, no criticism of the staff member. She was trying to serve a party of 8 who wanted to pay by cash (not unreasonable, in my opinion).You really need two people at a minimum.

5 of us booked for Mothers Day and had the Mothers Day 3 course menu - Prawn cocktail starter, Turkey main and Chocolate fudge cake desert. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing, everything was frozen with a bland taste and not home cooked. Very little effort was made with the food to make Mothers Day special. How hard is it to cook fresh food? To be honest I could have done better myself at home, saved the £100 it cost and indeed I wish I had as it was not enjoyable.That said, we have been before and eaten from the grille menu and the food was good.

The staff at the Highwayman in Oswestry are always extremely friendly, helpful & well presented. When we visited on Saturday they were very busy, but we didn't feel as though we were being rushed to order, or that they didn't have time for us. There was a very positive & professional attitude from the whole team from the young lady who greeted us when we entered & showed us to a table to the bar staff & waiting staff all were ultra professional. Our food was served quickly & was of excellent quality. I would highly recommend the Highwayman to anybody looking for a good place to eat or to just stop for a drink. The fact that they are a dog friendly pub too is a bonus.

After being told there was a 35-45 minute wait for food (we had pre booked our table) we waited 1 hour and 10 minutes after asking twice how long our food would be. The children’s chilli which has a 1 chilli rating was far too spicy (I tried it) so our daughter was unable to eat her meal and had to share my roast. Didn’t want to wait another hour for desert so we left. Left feeling Mother’s Day was a complete disappointment. Eating out is a real treat and today did not feel like a treat at all

Booked a table for me and my mum daughter and 2 children plenty of choice we had the roast dinners and one was a cauliflower cheese tart they were absolutely amazing didn’t take long to be brought to our table staff were very busy as it was Mother’s Day but it was very organised soon as one table empty it was cleaned staff lovely I have been here many times can’t fault itVegetarian options: Plenty of different options in the menuDietary restrictions: They ask us about any dietary needs before we booked which was goodParking: Car park nice and bigKid-friendliness: Little park out side well maintained but it was raining so we staying inWheelchair accessibility: All on one level

Went for a meal with family for my birthday. The place was packed and we were warned when ordering that there was a 45 minute wait. Starters came and had been eaten within the 45 minutes, and mains came without too much of a wait. Food was great, all orders correct. The staff were friendly and attentive even though they were busy, especially Ffion and Caroline.
