always impeccable service with delicious, hearty meals to go along with it! The place is always clean and inviting, and the staff are always hard at work from what I’ve seen, couldn’t recommend this place more if you’re looking for a quick and filling meal that hits the spot!

The more senior woman who serves the customers is very rude and lacks manners, constantly huffing and puffing at even the smallest request it’s frankly embarrassing. She clearly doesn’t want to be there but if she has to be the please invest in a crash course on manners she’s in dire need of one!

The worst chips I’ve had for a long time, more bits than chips and the were hard and inedible. A real shame as Wot’s Cookin used to be the best chip shops in Oswestry, it certainly isn’t anymore.

Really good fish and chips. Even do fries which is fab!

This much liked well known eat-in & take-away shop in Willow street, Oswestry has definitely changed since I was last here many years ago.A quarter-pounder burger, chips and regular black coffee to eat in would have cost just under a tenner so I asked for a takeaway instead!Asked for a small portion of chips, charged for a large portion which frankly was excessive and my burger was on the disappointment scale or less than average. The only saving grace was my black coffee...Such a pity that this once family owned eatery and much loved by Oswestrians is so very disappointingly different nowadays.Wot's Cooking will definitely be given a miss by me in future....

DREADFUL, DREADFUL, DREADFUL !!!Having just been in contact with the staff of Wot's, well, disgusted is not the word, but, maybe shocked is !!!Just been told that they are NO LONGER going to cater for a Gluten Free diet. These were always my go to place for a safe tea !!! Sad, sad, sad.Dietary restrictions: They DON'T cater anymore for someone with dietary needs !!!

Good size portions. Chips are a bit soggy. Everyone with allergies raves about the gluten free fish, but it was discontinued in May 2023. The chips are gluten free.

Great to have some nice lunch there, especially on a sunny day, it’s packed. Food is pretty good, decently priced and for the most part, the staff are lovely. That being said, one older woman with quite short hair, was, and still continues to be, very rude. When she is serving, she looks unenthusiastic, miserable and downright bored. I don’t mean to be rude myself, but she was extremely unhelpful. The first time, I was halfway thru checking my bank card to see if I had enough to pay for my order, she hurries me up whilst i’m doing this, and whilst I know I can be blamed for saying “card” before knowing if I had the money or not, she handled the situation terribly. The second time, she again rushed me with my order and couldn’t even bring herself to smile or even seem somewhat enthusiastic. She always just seems to be shaking her head. Safe to say, I really hope she doesn’t serve me again. I have been going here for years and I have seen a few slightly uninterested staff but she goes above and beyond. That being said, the other remaining staff are lovely, they serve me with smiles, enthusiasm and friendliness and as long as they are serving me, I will definitely be coming back here.

Chips cooked on too high heat so were overdone on the outside but not properly cooked on the inside. Fish was nice, but over all, very disappointing and over priced

Lovely fish and chips with a little salad, and the chicken pie taste home made.Vegetarian options: Can't say I am not Vedetarian.Dietary restrictions: Notice on wall saying about it, I usually work around my self

My Brother in law always talked about Wots cooking as a good place to eat, long before we tried it. He was right in that it is a good chip shop cafe and takeaway. We have always been served by friendly and attentive staff, who will try their best to look after your requests for strong tea etc! The food is good and plentiful. We had the fish n chips for two deal this visit, and it was really good value. Sometimes I prefer a baked potato instead of chips, and it’s a decent sized spud with plenty of filling. There are other alternatives too but cannot comment as we haven’t tried them. Occasionally we have to come back as seating is limited, but it’s worth it. It is what it is, a lovely cafe attached to a fish n chip shop, no frills, just good simple British food! NB. You could push a wheelchair in but I think it’s unsuitable as there would not be room to sit at the tables unfortunately.

My wife is gluten intolerant and fancied a fish and chips. as we were in the area we decided to try wots cookin. Really nice meal well cooked well presented the only complaint we had "too much food on the plate" we couldn't finish our portions. Really good experience would go again if we're in the area would definitely recommend.
