“We had a wonderful evening here on Saturday, food and service was incredible. The mixed paella was especially delicious!”

“Lovely place, great facilities and exceptional food. Evening meal, started with Jerusalem Artichokes, in sesame and soy the flavour was lovely. Main, we both had Turbot with squash and a side of glazed carrots, delicious and perfectly cooked. Deserts equally as nice, Chocolate tort and bakewell. Breakfast was amazing, all given a starter of yoghurt cheese and muffin. Ww had the smoked haddock omelette again absolutely delicious. Service throughout was friendly and attentive. Our room was quiet and warm, very comfortable bed, small bathroom. We will definitely be back”

“We visited for Sunday lunch having seen it rated by another site as the best for that in Shrewsbury. The Roast beef was medium-rare and great. The belly pork was terrific and moist with crisp crackling. Both came with crunchy roast potatoes and a terrific vegetable selection. Sticky toffee pudding to finish. All a big lunch so we shouldn’t have shared the nice tempura prawns to start!”

“A lovely meal. We were staying close by and wanted a meal out. Immediate good vibes with a full car park. The food was delicious, the young waiters a credit to the place and a very pleasant atmosphere. Spot on thanks.”

“Lovely little local pub close to where we stayed in Hook-a-gate, made us and our two dogs feel very welcome. Service was very attentive, friendly and polite. Food was excellent and portions were generous with very reasonable prices! Would definitely return and recommend. Thankyou to the team ?”

“This place has a gorgeous relaxing vibe. We couldn’t book for dinner, so we did lunch instead and we’re glad we did! Love the whole ‘Land, Earth and Sea’ part of the menu. The service was amazing and they were really honest about how big or small the portion sizes were. The noodles and bao buns are fantastic, but the sweat and sour tofu was too sugary for me. Overall a great experience.”

“Most of the staff were fantastic however one member let you down, when asked if we could have a window seat in a completely empty restaurant he said why would I let you have a window seat when you haven't booked, not at all professional. He then served a bottle of water which was dirty. However and luckily the rest of the staff were fantastic and the food was amazing otherwise this fantastic looking restaurant on the river seven would have struggled to get 3 stars.”

“I had the pleasure of eating lunch at the Windmill Inn today. I opted for "Today's Special" a seafood pasta, which featured very generously sized prawns and a gorgeous white wine sauce. The flavours were superb. The charming Country Inn atmosphere added to the overall appeal, making it a memorable visit, thank you. I would definitely recommend the Windmill Inn for a superb meal.”

“First time trying The Walrus and it did not disappoint. Each dish on the 6 course taster was beautifully presented and had an excellent balance of complex methods and delightful flavours. Staff were all friendly, attentive and cared about providing a service. Would recommend to anyone looking for a dining experience.”
