Lovely place, excellent food and friendly staff! Very good kids menu with lots of nice options and interchangeable sides, plus ‘build your own’ dessert options which were a hit with our 4 year old!

Went here for Saturday night dinner , upon arrival I found the dining room to be full of people enjoying their lovely food , the pie especially seemed popular, decided upon the fish and chips which was cooked to perfection and my gf , ordered a chicken burger which was very enjoyable.... The mushrooms on toast are very nice as a starter. 5 * recommendation

First day of the Specials at 7pm to find they had run out of the duck. The fish alternative small portions and the prawns were overcooked and rubbery

Lovely restaurant set in a beautiful location. The food there is always incredible, never disappoints. The staff are always so lovely and helpful.we had a meal there yesterday and the lovely lady who served us our meal recommended a dish to me which she said was one of her favourites, i can see why, the flavours and quality of food is impeccable. (sorry we didn’t catch the name of the lady who served us, but her service was excellent)Also Fin is always a jolly character. He had us laughing a few times during our time there yesterday.highly recommend this restaurant.

As always a fantastic food, ambience and above all exceptional service from Aaron. Incredible personable, the kids loved him and we felt so welcome. We come here everytime we have guests in Shrewsbury as it’s always a hit. Can’t wait for Summer to be in the garden again !

Only a brief visit but very impressed with the restoration and enhancement. Being quiet at the time it lacked atmosphere but the vision was clear to see. Quality throughout including the staff.Top quality venue in a location to die for ?

Lovely location, but food wasn't anything special. What was most concerning however was serving my allergy suffering partner hallumi (and some rogue packaging in the meal!) rather than fish. Staff weren't bothered.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Riverside Inn.As soon as we entered ,I could tell by the cleanliness, decor and friendly welcome, that we had chosen well. Our bedrooms were super clean, beautifully decorated, warm and comfortable. The restaurant was of the same high standard, and evening meals were enjoyable and reasonably priced. Breakfast in the morning offered a good choice and we were served by the friendly and very efficient Grainne ( hope I've spelt that right ?!) We found all staff to be polite and helpful. We have already recommended your establishment to friends and family!

Came here with my mum on a Friday lunchtime as a pre-Mothers' Day treat. I had the squid starter which was amazing, followed by fish and chips, and my mum had the mushroom pie and apple tart for desert. The portions were generous, and the food was well cooked and very tasty. We were in the restaurant at the back with terrific views of the river and Shropshire countryside. Service was excellent, and the whole experience was very good - as was the value for money. I would definitely recommend this place, and we'll definitely be back again. We reserved a table in advance, which I would also recommend to do.

There are gluten free options but interestingly chips are not suitable and there is no provision for an alternative version 'because the ones we buy in have flour on them'. Commercially produced chips in bags and frozen are dusted with starch of some kind to stop them sticking in the pack and it doesn't have to be wheat flour. Moreover, great tasting, crunchy and GF chips are easy to cook by parboiling then frying and a quality kitchen would do this rather than buying in plastic-bagged chips. I had salad instead and, to call the bag of rocket with cucumber ribbons and a drizzle of dressing a salad, is a stretch. Another hint that the kitchen is a food assembly line instead of a chef's kitchen. Lovely staff and surroundings though, just not a place to go if you want well prepared, good food.

Lovely meal and great service in a beautiful location. We ate in the conservatory again, which has lovely views over the river.
