The Severn Gorge is a great place to have a really lovely carvery. Its always busy so its a bit loud and packed, but the food is absolutely excellent and is very good value for money which is hard to find these days. The staff work very hard indeed and they are so friendly. This was the case even over Christmas and New Year when they were manic busy. Well done to you all you never dissapoint!!

Myself and my daughter decided visit The Severn Gorge today, and what a great meal we had. I ordered the carvery, and my daughter the Hunters Chicken. All staff members were polite and welcoming, especially Gavin and Lewis. The kitchen staff (Dan and Kate) were prompt with service, and our meals were piping hot.Would definitely recommend The Severn Gorge to friends and family for a welcoming visit.

Friendly and welcoming service. Three of our party had the carvery, which they all said was excellent - the dauphinoise potatoes were an unusual but very welcome addition. The lady who brought our food (Charlotte) was particularly friendly and helpful; she made sure that the plates for the childrens' food weren't too hot and that we had everything that we needed. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone in the area.

Service was very very slow and we had to ask for our meals as we had been there for an hour and no food had arrived. My starter came and it was cold tinned mushrooms with sauce and bread and a big chunk of plastic( like the corner of a sauce packet) then we waited for a long time again for our tickets to get our mains which were average. And again a massive wait for deserts ( some of our group had to leave) puddings were the best bit. I wouldn’t go again but at £25 for 3 courses I suppose you get what you pay for?

As a suggestion to get 5 stars, it would be good to have cold antipasto. Also, other sides, rices with onion and garlic.

Visited yesterday (Boxing Day) for a Christmas meal 3 course, starters, carvery & desserts. Walked into the restaurant, very quiet at lunchtime. Sat down at our table which was in a cramped corner of the restaurant when there was plenty of other free tables to be seated at with more space and comfort. Not a great start to the experience and this is just the beginning to the day. The starters were late, there was confusion with the ordering of pigs in blankets whether they were included with the carvery so we paid extra due to the confusion with the booking system over the telephone. The carvery was acceptable. The mess continues. After finishing the mains, we as a family were ready for our desserts. No waiter's available to clear our table of dirty plates and request the desserts. Still waiting for the table to cleared, a member of staff believed to be a manager was apologetic and told us she came into work into the mess that restaurant was experiencing and that orders were backed up and no one knew what they were doing. This particular staff member arranged free drinks as a way of an apology. This didn't exactly go to plan either and the wrong drinks were brought to our table. This was eventually corrected. Still at the point were are still waiting around for our desserts roughly 45 minutes after finishing our carvery. The desserts finally arrived after one of my family members went over to the bar about 3 times to find out what was going on. The desserts arrived about 1 hour after the carvery and they were wrong and some inedible and not what ordered. To finish, paying the bill was a farce with staff members getting asked to do help serve drinks to the other customers even though they were meant to assisting us with the bill. Which was ever so slightly reduced as an apology. All in all a disappointing experience and poor management and a lack of experience in customer service.

Fabulous food and the staff should be commended! Kate & Tim in the kitchen and Gavin at the carvery. A friend and I had the Christmas carvery last Friday and it was superb. Only 4 for the atmosphere as very few people there at 12pm. I expected a few more people, but it didn't detract from the food. Wonderful.Parking: No shortage of parking. I got right to the door.

We came here on Thursday and it was busy due to a quiz but they still accommodated us very well. We were greeted by manager Kim as we were confused what to do and she explained it all to us and showed us to a lovely quiet table as my son has autism and doesn’t like busy areas.Kim checked in on us throughout the duration of us in the restaurant and was so friendly and helpful. It was the first time for us at the Severn Gorge and we will certainly be back as the food was beautiful and Kim’s service was amazing. Thankyou Kim

Last visit (over a year ago) to here resulted in a one star rating for the friendly staff, and no stars for the food, but as I've returned today with friends, I've had the carvery again Had the turkey which was nice, veg was to my liking, not overcooked as last time, still with a bit of bite, but some of it a bit on the cold side, the stuffing much improved from my last visit, resulted in a much better meal, sweets ordered were great. Not a perfect visit due to could have done with better seating arrangement for a large party. Hence four stars.
