Came here for breakfast. A very warm welcome as I entered and a nice spot by the fire to warm up as it was a bit chilly outside. Food was delicious and well cooked... reasonably priced too. A good selection to choose from including veggie options. Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely will go back again next time I'm in the area. Highly recommended. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our afternoon tea. Good service and friendly staff. Nice surroundings. Food lovely and a proper pot of tea ?. Clean and tidy place. Would go again.

Gorgeous tearoom! Food was delicious - heart shaped scones were adorable and tea was a lovely loose leaf blend. We sat in the little garden at the back and were served by a young lady with a badge that read “in training” - she seemed quite nervous, but she shouldn’t have been because she was doing a great job! ? a lovely end to our holiday in Somerset. We will be back next summer! Thank you! ❤️Vegetarian options: We had a toasted cheese and pickle sandwich and two scones with clotted cream and jam - delicious!

We came for afternoon tea on the 27th September and it did not disappoint. Every aspect was amazing and so delicious. The lady who served us was in training for that day and she did so well despite all our dietary requirements and fussiness. Best customer service and best afternoon tea. A lovely place in such a beautiful area.

We ordered Soup of the day. The soup isn't liquid. So it's quite filling. Alongside, we had a toasted cheddar and chutney doorstop sandwich and cheddar and toasted ham sandwich. We also had cream tea with cheese scone and a normal scone. The scone came with chutney and clotted cream. Overall, we were beyond filled so had to pack one each of the sandwiches. If you take the outdoor seating, you can see the lion figured mountain behind the restaurant. The rooftop seating is fantastic. The service was speedy and splendid. Definitely a great experience.

Fantastic dog friendly cafe, had the best bacon sandwich, beautiful soft hand cut granary bread with quality bacon and a traditional cup of leaf tea. Staff are really friendly and what a little gem of a cafe. Ask for a caramel shake with an espresso shot, delicious.

I visited with my cousin for a catch-up and birthday cream tea, and ended up staying most of the day. Food was excellent, as always (started with a celebration afternoon tea each, later in the day had snacks, and had a milkshake and a few extra drinks besides). The staff were lovely, and were happy to let us move halfway through because the rain had stopped and I love being outside. We have visited a few times for the celebration afternoon teas and are never disappointed.

Lovely place for a bite to eat in Cheddar and can be very busy. Parking is a nightmare (no fault of Lion Rock) which was the only downside.Excellent mocha coffee ☕️ I would go so far as to say one of the best I've ever had.Despite parking, loads of people and possibly having to wait for a table, it is well worth a visit and without doubt on my list for a return

This place had great reviews, but we were very disappointed with the food. All the sandwiches felt extremely dry and bland - there were no sauces at all. You get exactly what it says on the menu (e.g. bread, cheese, ham) - nothing else! In my opinion, all sandwiches require a sauce/spread of some kind to work. The English breakfast was okay, but not more.Portions are indeed very big, which would be nice had we enjoyed the food more...

Gorgeous quirky tea rooms with a roof top garden and stunning views of the gorge. The food is mostly locally sourced and the taste was just stunning. My kids loved it and we would highly recommend for a cream tea. The freshly baked scones melt in your mouth.

What a amazing find, came with family this week, the sandwiches & baked potato’s where outstanding the best we have eaten in a long time. We will be returning very soon

We've been here a few time's & they serve the best cream teas & ploughmans. Not the cheapest in Cheddar but you get what you pay for. My only negative is that the tables are very close together outside in the garden, it does not stop us returning though. Great place

Its a good job I don't live near here because I would become very very fat. The fruit scone I had with the cream tea, had such a wonderful flavour. The cream tea I had in Cornwall the following day, was not a patch on the Lion rock cafe.

Family of 6 all had a cream tea and everyone commented on the fabulous scones (fruit and plain). Plenty of cream per person which impressed us. Other savory items like the pasty were great too. With lots of cafes in the area, a staff member of the cave tour recommended this one and she was spot on.

This place was excellent. Customer service from a young lad when we arrived up until we left was exceptional. If they weren’t so busy I would have checked his name properly. We had two cream teas with a toastie option, was perfect. My friend had a baileys milkshake which was also delicious. The venue was great, it was quirky! Shame it isn’t closer to home, I’d go often.
