Lovely welcome and coffee. Refills are a big plus. Lots of like-minded bikers around.

Best place to have some hot food after walking around a lot in cheddar! You can hire e-bikes for low prices as well!

Very friendly owner and staff, beautiful side garden. Just had some lemonade, a cappuccino, chips and a pasty but we enjoyed the quiet and the shade in a beautiful setting.

Stunning views. Friendly staff and very clean. However the pastie was sadly heated in a microwave so was very soggy. Also not a lot of filling at all. No flavour. Shame. I would not recommend the pasties sorry guys.

This is a great place in an elevated position away from the main gorge road but with great views of the rocks, lake and passers by. Really friendly staff Roger, Charles, Charlie & Mary who are all great, happy to chat, make recommendations and point you in the right direction for a great day out. They also have electric bikes for hire which would be a great way to view the gorge itself. We haven’t tried yet but have seen them in action! We came twice during the weekend. It was lovely sitting on the patio in the sunshine and the very attractive covered garden was great today in the rain. Dog was very welcome and water bowl provided on request. Coffee is great and was served in lovely insulated mugs which kept it nice and hot. I really recommend the yoghurt flapjack which was awesome. My wife chose salted caramel brownie both times and swears it is amazing! Great for couples, families, dogs and cyclists alike! And coffee lovers!

Stopped by after hiking up Cheddar Gorge and our path ended up leading us to this little gem. We both ordered a scone with cream & jam, alongside a hot chocolate with whipped cream. Sad to say that the hot chocolate and whipped cream was 50/50 but it was still relatively nice. The scone was nice and warm which was really tasty. Plenty of guests stopped by with dogs, with the staff handing out dog bowls to help them hydrate. Lovely scenery and a sweet bite, I’ll be stopping by here again next time visit.

Location is lovely and garden looks nice however, service started with a sexist comment, and didn't get better. Waited 25 mins for sandwich and a salad, with fillings clearly store bought! I was distusted that all food was served on disposable plate and bowl, including coffee, which we were lucky enough not to try! In todays world, creating that level of waste due to laziness in unacceptable! As a local, I will not be revisiting and would not recommend to tourists! Plenty of other great places to eat in cheddar! If you want to survive, you need to up your game dramatically!

Quick, efficient. Friendly team even on a hot and busy day. Old Roger is a true Somerset gem...Going again this week!

We arrived after a long walk up the gorge. I had seen it early on and it looked beautiful so decided we would head there for cake and tea after the walk. We arrived about 1530 and was informed the main kitchen was closed, which wasn't a problem. We asked if the cakes were still available and we're told they were. We went to order, a young lady served at the till, she didn't say hello, no smile, nothing and was very curt. We sat and our order arrived again the same young lady and a young man, all on paper plates and take away cups. Was told one was lemon cake and cream tea I said that's over that side please and then then she said "and there's the other one" and dropped the tray onto the table and walked away. They came back out one minute later and started to take the umbrellas away. They were clearly closing. I was so disappointed in this cafe. On the way back to the car we passed numerous other cafes, people laughing and looking relaxed, I really wish I had spent my money in one of them. Its a shame really as the food was very nice but I would not visit again and wouldn't recommend to anyone else either.

The best place in Cheddar Gorge! Just steps away from the main road and gorge walk, it’s the perfect place to stop for ice cream, lunch or a cold drink! They even welcomed our dog and brought her a water dish after our walk. Would highly recommend!!!
