Food & drinks: We visited on a Thursday evening, the food was delicious and of a really high standard and surpassed our expectations. We would absolutely visit again if we're in Glastonbury.

I didn't stay in the hotel, but I visited the country. Very beautiful and characteristic. The abbey is beautiful!

After a tasteful and approximate refurbishment The Crown has new life! It's comfortable and clean and the food is amazing. The staff are very friendly and the place has a great overall vibe. Lovely addition of the little "nooks" to cozy away time in. The Crown is 100% worth a visit.

Killing time whilst car was being serviced and called in for a breakfast. Nice place and good veggie meal. Proficient staff, will definitely visit again.

Staying not far from the centre The Crown was a perfect location and staff were very friendly and speedy service. Very surprised by the cuisine how tasty it was and arranged beautifully on the plate. Definitely I will recommend this place to eat . ?.

The best cheesy chips we have ever had. Crispy right through the whole bowl. Great chicken wings, too. Staff were friendly. The sheppys cider was perfect. Dogs allowed outside only, I understand not all pubs allow dogs in, we left ours so could sit inside for more cheesy chips, only to be in the snug when a guy came in with two kids and shut the door, saying I come in here and shut the door because it's like a free cresh. The kids then went up on the chairs and the windowsill, jumping around so we left, along with the others that were sitting in there chilling and talking with drinks.

What a great pub. The staff were really helpful and all you could ask for. They happily helped bring our drinks over to our table, and helped us choose the meals which would suit us.The meals were huge! Not only were they really well cooked and delicious, but we had heaps left over and the staff happily provided us with take away containers so we could have the leftovers the next day.Highly recommended.

Despite many emails between myself and the booking manager before we arrived in Glastonbury, we were not alerted to the fact that we would have three flights of quite steep stairs to climb in some places without a hand rail. And, I had mentioned we were travelling for six weeks with a lot of luggage and we would need help help as we were elderly and I am currently mobility challenged. No mention in all the correspondence that the stairs are too steep and quite dangerous. (photo attached does not really show how dangerous) Not only that, I made a real point of confirming the size of the bed... I was advised it was a King size but it wasn't... a large double at best. I've honestly stayed in hotels of varying standards all over the world and I know that one man's King is another man's Queen but this was definitely not a King. (see photo I took with my husband already in it) Hastening to add, we'd stayed in abut 3 different hotels on this particular trip to the UK, where the King sized beds we'd booked, were as expected, so it was not just a misunderstanding about UK sizes. Staying on a Saturday night is not recommended either because the band playing nearby sounded like it was in the next room. Seriously loud. I know all the reviews on here are great, so you can take mine with a grain of salt but, if you are of a certain age, looking for a large bed that you don't have to risk your life getting up to via the treacherous stairs (i.e. steep... with no hand rail at two points) then this is not the place for you. The Bar manager Mark was the saving grace, couldn't do enough for us... but unfortunately couldn't fix the bed or stairs issue... he was lovely throughout though (deserves more money because the guy who booked us, didn't shown his face... and no wonder!) Also Anna at check-in, Kathie, Alison and even Dan from the kitchen who left the cooking to help get our luggage down those horrendous stairs. In fact, all the staff we encountered were brilliant... food was pretty good too. Breakfast tends to attract an 'interesting' bunch of locals but in some ways, I thought the staff's attitude to them was really kind and accepting. Our room however was truly not what I expected (yet sold to us as the best room in the hotel) hugely disappointing and sadly, this stay tainted fondest memories of Glastonbury from decades ago.

I wish I had discovered this place sooner! The chef is from Thailand and has celiac, which means he prepares many, truly gluten free, gourmet-level meals. The food here was by far the best I have ever eaten in my life! I had the chili guacamole with rice crackers, the spicy Thai sirloin salad, and the honey glazed chicken wings. I missed out on trying the gluten-free fish and chips. I will definitely have them when I return. The service was incredible. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. Also, the desserts are also gluten-free. The lava cake was divine! The ambience was well-lit, but not overly so, pleasant in volume, and the seating was close enough, so you felt a part of things, but distant enough so you had your privacy. the perfect balance. I highly recommend this place. Thank you all for your wonderful attitudes, service, and making me feel so very welcome.
