Really good quality food in a nice place with a relaxed

alexander cruse

An unusual but very interesting menu, I had the risotto which was extraordinarily good. And the crumble, also very good. The staff were very friendly and patient and the atmosphere was excellent. Highly recommended.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie and vegan options clearly marked.Dietary restrictions: Staff are very accommodating and patient with customers dietary requirements. Table next to me had one of the fussiest customers I had seen and the young man was very patient and helpful.

Although I have eaten there before, my main purpose for going there now is to put on events in the performance area and I often have coffee and cake while I am there. Great place for business meetings and catch-ups etc.Parking: Very few nearby and always tricky when there is an event being held thereWheelchair accessibility: Easy access

I visited for brunch on a cold Sunday and everyone in the group was very happy with both the food and coffees.I had the full english breakfast and everything was spot on. The homemade beans were delicious, as were the sausages and bacon. The portions are also very big, especially considering the prices are so low.The service was a bit slow, but it seemed like they were perhaps understaffed on the day we visited and everyone was clearly doing their best to keep up.Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for all diatary requirements.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of options for all diatary requirements.Parking: Free parking lot outside.

Didn't try the food. I just stopped by for coffee, but loved the ambience of this place. It's something a little different.

Went to an Oscars themed evening on Saturday. With 100+ guests all looking glam, we were disappointly made to drink from cheap plasticy cups. Drinking G&Ts in rubbish cups made for very expensive unpleasant drinks! Everyone was complaining about this and the team said they were under strict instructions to only serve plastic. I would not recommend a large private function on this basis (which is booked through Red Brick)

Having visited The Old Tannery twice, once in the summer and again shortly before Christmas, it is apparent that the restaurant oozes a quirky, colourful and musical atmosphere appropriate for Glastonbury, however there doesn't appear to be a great focus on the food.I haven't yet eaten a plate of food from The Old Tannery that has wowed me. In fact, in the two occasions I visited and five courses I ordered, I didn't finish a single plate. On the menu, the food choices sounded great, different and interesting, but upon eating it felt like a chore. However, those who chose to order burgers and steaks had no complaints about their food. Perhaps the restaurant could focus on these safer options.Despite feeling deflated by the food, after passing my comments onto the staff they responded incredibly appropriately with a customer-forward mindset. No complaints about their attitude whatsoever. Finally, we made the mistake of booking a table on the same day as a musical event which meant the servers were preoccupied with a crowd of people ordering drinks at the bar. They did very well to attend to our table in a timely manner, but there were clear signs that they were too busy, drinks not arriving to the table and extras ordered off the menu not being passed to the kitchen.Relatedly, there is only so much parking avaliable, so during busy nights you risk parking your car in the road in a not so secure area.Especially as I visited in the summer where there was no event on, the difference is clear. If you have interest in attending The Old Tannery for a meal, I would advise taking the extra steps to ensure you are not doing so on a day an event is taking place.Ultimately, I left feeling that the restaurant menu is more style over substance and perhaps could be simplified.I hope to hear good things regarding The Old Tannery in future, but as it stands I won't be rushing back.

Very disappointed, my husband and l booked for News Years Eve , starters ok , l ordered chicken and bacon burger ( kitchen were asked if still available, responded yes) , when my meal came out , there was a piece of skin and 2x 2pence size chicken scraps . I called over waitress who told kitchen l wasn’t happy £16 , you would expect some chicken !!I reordered a steak ( well done ) after 15 mins my steak came out med/rareSadly will not be back or recommend.

I couldn’t fault this place. Excellent food; very decent service; reasonably priced. I would definitely go again, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Obviously it’s not The Ritz, but it is very good.

Very enjoyable lunch - tasty mezze platter and tapas dishes, and nice atmosphere too. We’d definitely come back.
