We had our wedding reception here and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. “Carpark is available for parking of 2 motorhomes, which is where we stayed for the night. 24hr access to toilets and electric also available. The evening meal was delicious as was the breakfast the following morning. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and accommodating

“Popped in on the off chance whilst passing through.

Had a brilliant meal. My wife had the best steak ever. My gammon was awesome too but was a tad jealous of her steak meal. Will have to have it next time.

Landlord took time out to talk to us to see if we enjoyed our meal. Extremely friendly.

“One of the best roasts I have ever had! We visited the pub on Sunday as a larger group and what an experience we were offered. Phillip and the team were so accommodating from initial enquiry, to pre-order and on the day. We had the stable area to ourselves to round off a wonderful hen weekend. The room was beautifully decorated, service excellent and attentive and the food delicious. Highly recommend the cauliflower cheese! One of our party was dairy free and again this was no issue at all and a dairy free roast was easily provided. When it came to pudding we all fancied sticky toffee that isn't on the normal Sunday menu, the staff enquired with the kitchen and again this was provided with no trouble at all. A place I would like to visit again and stay at, absolutely wonderful day!

Food and drinks: The roast was absolutely incredible, efficient service when we arrived after we had pre-ordered and catering for dairy free in our group was no problem at all.

“Could not fault staff and excellent breakfasts with home baked bread, small rooms were immaculate, ok for short break, no chair in the rooms, avoid Wednesdays as the rooms are right over the function room!”

“Great Sunday roast. New owners/managers I understand. Will forgive the stressed welcome when we approached for an arrival drink. An older lady behind the bar was quite abrupt and told us in no uncertain terms to go and check in instead with a young lady at the end of the bar. How were we supposed to know? She wasn’t entertaining that we just wanted a drink first whilst others from our party arrived. Felt properly like I’d been told off!

Also not happy with the default added service charge so many now seem to just add to the bill. We normally tip well over 12% if have a good experience… but not when it’s expected. Realise you can ask to have it taken off (which we did and paid our own amount) but it’s put my father off returning. He’s old school.

So as I said tho, the food was great… just warm welcome next time might help us settle in and enjoy the moment better.”
