We visited on a busy Sunday lunchtime having pre-booked a table. We were seated in the bar rather than the restaurant at a table that needed cleaning. Menus were brought swiftly and our order was eventually taken after a wait. It was then over 40 minutes until our food arrived and at no point were we told about the delay. Eventually our food arrived (after I asked at the bar) and the waitress did apologise but with no explanation. The food was fine and we all enjoyed our meals....read full review
I had the pie of the week, the chef’s own Somerset chicken pie. Delicious. Chicken, cider, onions, mustard. Lovely moist pie. The beer was good, and the service was efficient and friendly. They even provide electrical hook-up for overnighting motorhomes. A real find.

One thing that I always check when eating out is whether the plate is hot. It wasn't, which meant the food went cold quite quickly.Considering the price of the roast, which is fairly high when looking at around the area, I thought it was fairly average and disappointing. Certainly seemed like frozen roast potatoes. Pleasant staff but the atmosphere was a little stale sadly.
