I had the best fish n chips and the very best Sunday carvery at The Old Ship Aground by Hall & Woodhouse.Shame my local Portishead Hall & Woodhouse doesnt offer the same quality or value for money.

I was not in the hotel! I meant the restaurant… not good enough and high price. The waitress is only lovely with people who she knows… and we were waiting and waiting for her and she is talking and talking with friends. Disgusting…190 pounds in the bin. Never more!!!

We just got back from a three day break at minehead quay and the pub was a very short walk from are accommodation. The pub had a really friendly atmosphere and the staff were excellent. We had are evening meals which very good. The pub is also dog friendly and as small treats in a jam for them.

My wife and I came here while we were in Minehead. It's in a lovely location by the harbour, tucked away and quieter than the centre of Minehead. We turned up at Saturday lunchtime without much hope of getting a seat, but they made room for us in the extension at the back of the building. The food was lovely. Quite possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had. The batter was very crispy, the chips were lovely and the portion was huge. They have rooms available, so if we're ever in Minehead, we will definitely be staying with them.

Walked there from butlins for a decent lunch. Guessing they were brutally understaffed because the service was far too slow. Stuff got missed too. Had to chase up orders. Then when food arrived it was pretty terrible. Shame, because it was good last year. Nevermind.

I had a great stay here. The staff were the most friendly and welcoming team. The pub is in a nice location with a sea view from the window. The food was good and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was included and they made me a sandwich to go which was awesome. I look forward to returning when I am next here for work.

Excellent bar meal in cosy surroundings. Harbourside location. Road side parking nearby. Good menu. Did not stay at premises so cannot comment on the rooms.Recommended.

The view across the bay is stunning, especially as the sun goes down. The food was brilliant- big portions and great quality! The staff were very friendly.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in!! The staff are friendly, the bar is unique with a lovely theme and the rooms have an amazing view of the sea front!! I recommend getting the vegetarian breakfast!

Easily the best carvery I've had and full compliments to the head chef who apparently used to be a real Kent. The service from all the staff was outstanding though and can't wait to return.

Great place on the old harbour away from the main part of Minehead. My heart sank when I saw the Sunday carvery advertised but as it was getting late we called in and were rewarded with friendly service, a warm and comfortable seating are and a delicious meal. On this occasion,it was towards the end of food service, the chef, Don, came to collect diners and took them to the carvery at the back of the pub in a large dinning space, presumably used at peak times. Don was friendly and chatty and obviously took pride in his carvery offering, explaining some of his ingredients and carving a fresh turkey which was succulent and tasty. All in all a perfect Sunday roast. Highly recommended. Better to book, it's very popular.

The fish and chips, the calimare, and the mussels were fantastic. Service was not so good. Waited about half an hour on a beer. They could use more help during lunch. Nice atmosphere.

Great pub, really enjoyed our ploughmans and cider.Have to say how impressed I was with the girls that served us, very polite, efficient, smiling and good at their job.Downsides, we opted to eat out side as it was a lovely day, and the beer garden certainly looked a bit neglected and there was a very noisy chiller fan that seemed to cut in and out about every three minutes, and was quite invasive into conversations, pity really. But had a good meal despite these slight negatives.

Really nice pub to stop and have a few beers in, the Guinness is on point too. Very nice seating out the front overlooking the harbour. Added bonus of showing the rugby as well!
