“Just back from a great weekend away at HOLM in South Petherton. This is your quintessential trendy restaurant with stylish rooms in rural idyll type place.

The food in the restaurant is good. It’s taster menu only - an experience - and as you would expect of this kind of foodie place, the dishes are rich and experimental. We didn’t love all of them but the potato soup with ragout and the duck main were very very good.

The rooms are stylish and minimalist and perfectly comfortable. The staff are attentive and friendly. The surrounding village and wider area really is a beautiful part of the world.

If you are looking for a romantic getaway with a partner or group of friends I’d thoroughly recommend HOLM.

Walkability: Right in the middle of South Petherton. Nice place to have an amble around.

Food and drinks: Excellent restaurant. Rich haute cuisine in an evening. Hearty, refined breakfasts in the morning.”

“We came here as our pre wedding get together on Friday evening and it was fantastic! The food was brilliant, easy and tasty! The setting was so lovely with the stretched tent and fairy lights, all the staff were helpful and kind to us and in general it’s just an amazing country pub we could not recommend enough! “Stopped here while travelling down to Cornwall, and really pleased we did. Was worried there wouldn't be space from pictures of a small rail car, but there's also a bus and marquee area for seating, so shouldn't have worried. The menu is interesting, lots of small plates designed for sharing rather than standard cafe food, but everything we ordered was lovely and full of flavour. Service was great as well, although they were very busy. Thank you team! The farm shop next door is full of delicious bits and pieces as well.”
