My husband and I enjoyed a Valentine's lunch. Fabulous food. Well presented.Quiet and comfortable restaurant. We will definitely return!Parking: There is a small public car park nearby. Street parking is not possible as this small family run restaurant is on a main road.

Living in London and spoilt for choice I have eaten in many expensive restaurants over the years but my experience last night was out of this world. The restaurant came highly recommended by a friend and it was clean and welcoming. I had the duo seafood starter which was a good explosion in your mouth, sea bass which was so fresh served with potato and an array of perfectly cooked veg, followed by the passion fruit tart with coconut ice cream. It felt like I was dining at a friends house and not at a restaurant, the chef and owned Adam went out of his way to say hello to each and ever my diner despite the restaurant being so busy. I highly recommend and will return to Wells again for this very reason to dine at this establishment.

Wonderful small restaurant with an open kitchen so you can see the chefs doing their magic on the delight you are going to get to eat! The dishes are delightful, tasty and interesting. We were in a hurry as we had a concert to attend but we still managed to get two courses in and it convinced us we'll be back soon for a more leisurely meal.

The best tasting fish and seafood I've had in a long time, well prepared, presented, and with excellent service. My congratulations to the proprietors.

Our first visit to Goodfellows since their move to 7B. We decided to go for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. For the first hour after arriving (and we didn’t get there when the restaurant opened) we were literally the only two diners. The dinner menu was okay, different to that on the restaurant website (despite not being marked ‘sample menu’ online). I’m not entirely convinced that my dinner was gluten-free, despite very advanced notice by us. I suffered an horrendous coeliac/gluten reaction about 24 hours afterwards. The crème brûlée in a IKEA dog bowl, was delicious. The service was, a bit, absent. An email from us a few days before, just politely confirming that we would be there for dinner, met with no response. When seated in the restaurant we asked Martine (Adam Goodfellows wife, who works front-of-house) when the restaurant had moved and if they were doing okay. “Ugh, well” came the reply as she gestured towards the empty room with her eyes. One thing that I can never get over in restaurants is the way some waiting staff constantly have to bother you with “Everything okay?”. The small restaurant (max. 25 covers) is empty. We are eating, chatting, drinking, laughing. Yes, everything is okay. We don’t need to be bothered by bored staff. Even if such a small place was full, I’m sure we could get someone’s attention should we be sitting silently, not eating, not looking happy, because something is not okay. It just killed the whole experience. As a few more diners sat down I also noticed how the wine measuring seem to differ greatly between what we had paid for and were served and that being given (happily) to clearly regular customers. Hmm. I knew the service could be a bit surly from our dining experiences when Goodfellows were on Sadlers Street, it was disappointing to see that has continued at 7B. We’ll most likely give the restaurant another visit sometime, everyone deserves another chance. Maybe when they’re busier and the staff a bit more upbeat.

This Restaurant is not closed and Adam and the team are serving up delicious food as always but now located at 7b St Thomas street in Wells. Great starter of Salmon Sashimi followed by Fillet steak, all fantastic, in a lovely intimate setting with the kitchen and cooking all on show. There are only around 30 seats so booking essential and you won’t regret it.
