Visited a while back but only just getting around to writing a review. Staff were so kind and allowed us to sit upstairs even though it was technically closed. We had cream tea and were made to feel very welcome. Thank you for having us.

We popped in for a family lunch. The kids had a lovely plentiful lunch and really enjoyed it. Sadly ours wasn’t the same. The ploughman’s was tiny. The cheese was barely enough for a sandwich, tiny salad (third of a stick of celery, quarter of an apple, half a tomato) it wasn’t filling in anyway and the size I’d give the kids. The pickles and bread accompaniment were great and not in proportion at all. Sadly we came away hungry and headed elsewhere for extra food.

A lovely little cafe, polite and friendly staff. Teacakes and cake was excellent, tea and coffee were very hot and of good quality. We will be coming back to Wells next summer, and this little cafe will be on our list to visit ?.

Coffee was OK, service slow & don't go for the flapjacks. Outside a very nice setting.

We visited on Wells Food Festival day and the city was very busy. We only had coffees this time but have had a lunch there previously which was quiche and salad which was lovely. I left my jacket on the back of my chair and only noticed I was without it when I returned home to Bristol. I phoned the restaurant and they confirmed that it had been found and they offered to post it to me as I wasn't local. The jacket arrived safely a few days later. Its a small friendly place with good simple food and wonderful staff.

I chose a beautiful looking homemade quiche. But when it arrived at my table it had been destroyed, re-heated to an appalling state. I eat anything andI just couldn’t eat it. If they had realised they had over re-heated it, why did they still give it to me? AWFUL. And yet, my husband’s Ploughman’s was lovely. Please Kitty’s, if you mess something up, start again. I wouldn’t have minded waiting or having quiche not reheated.

We visited Kitty Banks Cafe in beautiful Wells on 7th September 2023. It was a hot day and I had lovely chilled water from a glass dispenser (no plastic - great!) We all had lovely drinks and the cheese and ham toastie was divine. Had some fun banter with the lovely staff who were cheerful and obliging considering they were running around in the heat. We would absolutely go again if we are ever back in this charming town!

Canal side setting, good parking and food served inside or out. Nice and friendly place to refresh from a walk or cycle ride.

Had an excellent lunch. Best quiche I've ever had, and it was home made. My daughter had a hot pasty with salad. Very generous amount of food too. Coffees were delicious. The staff were really nice and friendly. They were all polite, we didn't have to wait long for our meals either! Would definitely go again. ?

After walking the strawberry line with a friend, we thought we would stop for a light bite and a drink. After placing our order at the till which was taken by the 'boss' who didn't know her own prices and was using a calculator! A cream tea was ordered along with a croissant and banana milkshake. My friend and I were initially sat outside but due to wasps we came inside informing 'the boss' as we did. Another couple immediately took the table outside as we vacated. The drinks were taken to this table first, they had arrived considerably after we had ordered so this appeared a little 'off' as we hadn't ordered a hot meal. The cream tea came without the tea, and the banana milkshake came with cream after I had specifically asked for no cream due to my friend being unable to take it. When the replacement milkshake arrived the milk was curdled! when the tea arrived it was luke warm! Another replacement arrived neither of which were finished. The waitress a young girl was very polite and working hard, she appeared to be the only one and was run off her feet. Despite this 'the boss' kept barking orders at her, blaming her for wrong orders and obviously made her feel uneasy. The 'boss' was untidy, rude and flustered, she was obviously taking on more than she could handle, blaming the customers or her waitress. The young waitress deserves to be recognised for her hard work, both myself and friend appreciated her efforts in trying to put her boss's failings right. Other staff members were seen just standing around or on phones. We will definitely not be returning!

We have been before to this cafe pre-Covid and enjoyed the experience; however times have changed! Ordered two (supposedly) 'Coronation chicken' sandwiches and two drinks (£18 odd if you please!).....smallest sandwich I've seen for a while and packed with mango chutney with barely any evidence of any chicken. Very disappointing compared with how this used to be presented, i.e. lovely sized granary slices packed with filling AND recognisable as proper Corry Chicken. Suffice to say....we won't be back.
