My husband and I were travelling around the UK, and our family friend took us around Avebury. They suggested Uncle Tom's Cabin for a drink and lunch. Absolutely love this place. Would love to go back. Just a question - with alot of interesting history about it, just wondering if it is haunted?

We went on a Friday to have some beers and we had a great time. The staff were lovely and there was a lot of atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Awesome, one of the best last original drinking taverns, with a great atmosphere...

It's lovely, and I get used to it being addressed with darling and so, by female hosts now the female bartender. She was very hospitable and even offered, when she heard it was a firsttimer in a pub our drinks for free. Cosy pub

A truly warm welcoming place. This place is full of life, whilst still inviting to a one off / first time visitor. The staff and owner are really nice people, as are the regulars who were friendly and chatty.I had a great afternoon there and will be visiting again. Thanks all, Chris & Wisp.

It's without doubt the friendliest pub in wincanton. Could do with a few quid being spent on the decor. Tragically the butcombe on the day was awful but there's loads of cider to choose from

I went into this pub to use the toilet. The minute I went in there I was greeted with warmth and welcome. I asked to use the bathroom and ended up blurting out I need a taxi to glastonbury, even though I planned to look online. Not only did they let me use the bathroom, a very kind local even took me there. The bar lady then went through the process of calling up the taxi driver for me. I told them my card wasn't working so they sorted out a bank transfer for me. Then a very kind lady bought me a coke. Once I drank this the bar lady then offered me another one and gave me a packet of burts cheese and onion crisps knowing I couldn't pay for it. The bar lady was always checking to see if i was ok and felt comfortable and everyone was up in arms trying to help. Amazing people and a very nice place for a drink and get to know the locals. Will definitely be popping in if I pass through again :)
