Visited for breakfast. Quick service , cold food one meal returned to disgruntled staff. Few staff seemed to be working hard other not bothered. Was enough of them which is unusual for a spoons these days.

My food was cold so I took it back to be told give it the staff at end when I looked they all sat eating breakfast and basically looked at me like I was a piece of dirt. When my food came back it had been shoved in microwave chips were soggy, bar staff seemed friendly but more interested in feeding their own faces than the customers which should really be the priority.

Ideal space to push a wheelchair to a table. Enjoyed the meal, the drinks and the service was good as well.

Usual reliable wetherspoons arrangement. Heap food and beers just lacks music therefore seems a little short of what it could be.

We called here for breakfast as our usual Wetherspoons has closed. There was a long long wait for the food to come and when my husband tried to call an assistant he was ignored. Eventually the food arrived bit mine was cold as it had been served on a cold plate. I didn't want to have to wait even longer for it to be redone so I ate it but it wasn't a pleasant experience. Also the downstairs coffeemachine was broken so people were coming upstairs to fill mugs, but after a while the upstairs machine was turned off too. I appreciate its in the middle of being refurbished, but maybe it should have been closed for longer than it was, given the poor state of the offering

Wow the place is enormous, sprawled over two large floors. The main draw for our party was plenty of room to sit, cheaper beer and some real ale. So we got we wanted and it wasn’t particularly busy on a Monday night. The young lady behind the bar was pleasant and very chatty. I ordered American pale ale and Kiwi pale ale both well kept, poured and presented. It is quite dark and dimly lit, but the tables were clean and we had a good night. A big negative though fir me was the state of the gents toilets on the first floor. Plenty of facilities in there but a number of the urinals were leaking and floor was very wet, they had put signs out though. One if the cubicles was open but not toilet just a hole in the floor and clearly building work going on there but it was not closed off, no soap in any dispenser but the dryers were fine. I didn’t try the food so can’t comment on that. I see it hasn’t had a three, four or five star review with the exception of one since around June 2022 that perhaps tells a story of neglect over that time. It was my first visit so can’t make a judgement on what it was like but I do visit other Witherspoons pubs and they are better. My local one is in Wakefield, it’s currently undergoing an extension into a next door property and possibly a refurbishment and that was needed there. Would I return, yes I probably will to visit the same group of friends in Barnsley because it’s convenient, sells good ales at a cheaper price point.

Pub/restaurant chain. Typically provides fast food at low prices. Families are welcomed. A full bar with a wide range of both Alcoholic/Non - Alcoholic beverages on offer at low cost. Food is OK, but typical Greene King menu. Some vegetarian choices. Very spacious with a post industrial theme apparent. Plenty of little alcove areas acting as a quiter space. Staff are friendly & accommodating, making you welcome.Vegetarian options: Beyond meat burger is an option, along with a few other things, but nothing original or mind blowing.Kid-friendliness: Kids of all ages are welcome. Time restrictions apply.Wheelchair accessibility: Where chair access on ground level floor, with adequate door width.

Mistake, complete and utter mistake. As i strolled casually into this place i sensed a dull and macabre atmosphere. Little to say the least, that explains everything in this place. After a 30 minute wait i was finally served i asked for a chicken burger and chips with a side of onion rings. But guess what? They had no chicken burgers! What a disgrace. Anyways i settled for a double cheeseburger and chips. After getting the food (another 35-40 minute wait) i was greeted by a moody and miserable waitress. The food seemed to be slapped together with little to no care on a rather peculiar looking plate. Took a bite of the burger and it wasn't anything special, to be honest it was revolting. Do not recommend 2 stars at a push.
