Really delicious food and fantastic service! The waiter organised a birthday brownie for my friend, accompanied by the chef playing guitar and singing happy birthday!! Really great evening, thank you all!

Favela Brazillian Grill

First time eating here, we were going to eat at estabulo's but they had changed the menu from the usual meats to a limited lunch menu. So decided to try favela and we were not disappointed!! The service was quick the staff were very friendly and the waiter could not do more for you. Lots of choice for the salad bar. It was a lovely experience for our little celebration!! We have definitely found a new favourite!!!

Old George

Unassuming from the outside, this coffee shop surprised me during my short visit to Barnsley. Their decor, menu and service are all five stars. I came here twice and had the nuts & granola toast and the Turkish eggs. They also do a really good latte! Highly recommended.

Food Paradise

Food Paradise in Barnsley is one of the best spots I’ve eaten at! The food is fresh, well-seasoned, and the portions are seriously generous. I highly recommend the knysza – perfectly baked bread, plenty of meat, and delicious extras. The staff is friendly and quick, and the place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Prices are fair for the quality you get. I’ll definitely be coming back! ???

The New Cross Keys - Darfield

We have visited the cross keys many times over the years. Dan is a fabulous host and chef he is always welcoming.the staff are also excellent. The food is amazing. This week 3 out of 4 of us had the Sea bass and it was amazing. Dan even came and asked our opinions on how he could tweek if it was necessary. It was games night which is always busy and very entertaining.
My friends and I highly recommend a visit or even more.

Po wielu pozytywnych rekomendacjach od znajomych postanowiliśmy dzisiaj odwiedzić restaurację.Zamówiliśmy żurek i tradycyjne kotlety schabowe.Żurek był bardzo aromatyczny i świeży,biała kiełbasa bardzo smaczna,a dodatek jajka podkreślił smak. Lovely food, reasonably priced, great efficient and friendly service, will definitely come back. Had the hallumi kebab starter and lamd and chicken shish kebab, shared a chocolate brownie for pudding. All food was amazing

We visited last night, arrived on time and our table was ready and waiting, staff were really friendly and helpful, drinks arrived in short time and order placed which again arrived in good time, food was superb in good portion and filling, staff were attentive without being overly pushy. Bill came and was a surprise, great value. Will visit again, well worth a visit

Norman Inn

The service was brilliant and the food was good except the chicken and mushroom pie that had almost all sauce and hardly any chicken also a bit bland but it was all piping hot and my husband loved his steak. The discount codes are excellent and the 40% off food was amazing so we will be back

Puccini’s in Barnsley is absolutely outstanding! The best Italian food I’ve had in a long time – every dish is full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely, making it the perfect place for a relaxed meal or a special occasion. The Bells Bar & Kitchen

Had a really lovely time at The Bells last night. We had tapas for staters and then shared the Châteaubriand. The steak was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is really chilled. A lovely experience and we will be back!

Istanbul Kitchen and Bar

I have been here several times for food. They are consistent with good food quality both in flavour and quantity for a reasonable price. Very friendly staff. I love the Istanbul special for 2 people. We had ate most of the starter prior to taking the photo. Always end up with a takeout box as we can never finish it.

Urban Fresh Burgers & Fries - Barnsley

Really love to eat at Urban Burgers. The food was excellent, the staff was very friendly. We choose to come here over going to Meadowhall, even if Meadowhall was in our way! And we were not dissapointed :) Always a pleasure to come back to eat in! Best burgers! Highly recommend!

The Crown & Anchor

Cracking pie, fish and chips and a swordfish special. A cheeky 7.5% service charge was added to the bill. To be honest it's a pet hate of mine. He did point it out before paying and I accepted. If that service charge does genuinely go to the front and back of house that's not an issue. I would like to tip discretionary and not to be put on the spot. However it was well deserved as the food and service was great.

Beatson House Restaurant

Great staff, service spot on informal but considered and a warm welcome. Food excellent and very well priced. This is a hidden gem worth the effort. Date night or special occasion perfect.

Elephant & Castle Hemingfield

What a lovely find we went here Tuesday night by off chance and was really impressed the food was excellent. Decor really nice great service deffo going back and I bet it's a lovely spot in the summer with is lovely beer garden.

MezzALuna Ristorante

Mezzalunas is our go to place for birthdays and family meals, always great service, great food and good price. The early bird offer they do is exceptional value, We always book before we go to ensure we get a table. We've also visited for Sunday dinner on a few occasions and that is also great value and good food.

Absolutely fantastic pub.
Family run.
Great, friendly, attentive service.
Brilliant selection of drinks.
It's the kitchen that sets this place apart however.
Everything is freshly made in house. Even down to the complimentary lavender short breads that come with every hot drink that you order. Simply stunning.
The menu changes regularly.
The portions are very generous.
Can't sing the praises of the puddings enough. Last time I was there, I had a pineapple rum upside down cake. Individually moulded. With a ladle full of fresh made Creme Anglaise. Absolutely stunning!

Pasha Turkish restaurant

We ate here on a Sunday evening and the whole experience was tremendous.
The restaurant has a good atmosphere and we liked the fact that the kitchen is on view. You can see the chef at work.
We ordered two main meals and dessert. Our food was delicious! The meat was lovely and tender. It had a lovely flavour and was steaming hot.
The baklava for dessert was one of the best I have ever tasted. Both desserts were beautifully presented.
The service was excellent and we will definitely be paying a return visit.
We also considered the prices to be very fair.

The Garrison

First time I have been here but my other half meets with friends every week and she eventually twisted my arm. Clean with a good atmosphere. Chairs, high stools, settees too, and there is plenty of space to relax. HUGE screen to watch sporting events and tables and chairs outside on the old cobbled yard. The food is good and the drinks are cold. They don't mind if you bring your dog here, so there is usually one or two to fuss over as they roam around from one group of people to another. It's just a nice place to meet, chat and of course, have a drink.

Enjoyed the meal, they had zero alcoholic drinks to suit both my husband and myself. Staff were attentive. Atmosphere good. We visited in passing, we were very happy we made the decision to stop.

Me and my boyfriend always come here for our breakfasts and it’s spot on every time. It comes quick , it’s hot and always perfect. Not one single fault in any of the times we have been !

I have ordered from the Everest many times and can honestly say that their food and customer service is is great! My favourites are the kebabs ? and the madras is the best. I have had many madras from differnt places as this is my favourite curry but can say they do the best. With all the sides, perfection ?

Great food all round. Pizzas, wedges, garlic bread, cookies are all amazing and very tasty. It’s our always go to for when we fancy a pizza takeaway. Highly recommend to anyone in area. The people are very friendly and the delivery driver is always very happy and polite.

Great pub been going in for years. Current landlord is a great guy and the staff always helpful. Nice to see it getting busier again with quiz nights bingo on a Sunday and artists playing.

Lovely carvery as usual, all the staff were welcoming and pleasant, especially Claire who went above and beyond to be helpful. I would definitely recommend eating here.

China Lantern Chinese Restaurant and Takeaway

The best Chinese in Barnsley and beats any in Rotherham too. Ingredients are fresh and top quality. The highest cleanliness levels are maintained and the staff are lovely.

Great Italian restaurant! As an Italian, I can say the pizza was truly delicious and the staff were extremely kind. It’s rare to find such a good pizza outside of Italy, so I was really impressed. The Moretti beer was also a nice surprise. I will definitely come back!

Fantastic atmosphere, love the bingo on Wednesdays, always fun on a thirsty Thursday too, weekends r great, lovely polite staff and always clean and spotless, recommend ?

McDonald's

Food is usually cooked well here and staff polite. But it is awkwardly placed and the access roads are terrible if not dangerous and confusing, having to enter via a garage exit point. parking is always a pain and if you use the drive thru, hope that people with half a brain cell dont park in it. Otherwise the drive thru becomes lodged and grinds to a halt. The cooking machines non stop beeping for 25 minutes drove me nuts as a visitor, imagine working listening to it.

Standard McDonald's. Reasonably clean, food is an acceptable quality though if using the drive through its best to check your order as 'special' orders are often incorrect.

Heaven & Ale

Fabulous hidden gem, just outside of the town centre.
There is a vast selection of craft ales available, so ideal for the real ale drinker, and the most reasonably priced.
Really pleasant atmosphere, great staff and quirky decor. 100% a firm favourite.

Tap & Brew

Great little bar, staff are all nice talkative friendly folks, and some great beers on tap.

There's a couple guitars on the wall for anyone who can play to entertain others, though could do with a restring.

Miners Rest

We only moved on Kensington Rd last August. With all my hospital visits, my partner would wait for me in here, I have to say it is such a friendly pub, I don't feel out of place at all, I always hear laughter, which in my case makes it a lovley little place to go. Loved it in here.

Our second visit since the new owners took over. The staff are welcoming and friendly and so is the atmosphere. The real ales are well kept and delicious ??. So if you are in the Barnsley area and want a nice pint in a relaxed welcoming atmosphere then give the Ash a try.

Me and my wife visited Thaal Indian restaurant for the first time this evening. It was a lovely experience all round. The food was absolutely amazing, one of the best Indian meals we have ever had. And that is saying something as we have visited a lot of Indian restaurants over the years.
The staff were all very friendly, helpful and attentive. The service couldn't have been any better, absolutely top notch. All in all it was perfect in every aspect. We will look forward to our next visit very soon. ??

100% best chippy I've ever been to. Proper chippy chips. Fish outstanding, batter very light perfectly fryed. Nice mushy peas. Friendly staff. Definitely be back.?

Lovely food, all fresh and nice and to top it off, they forgot my garlic and herb big dip and the driver got straight on the phone and the manger sent another driver with it, might not seem like much but most takeaways and big chains ignore the phone and don’t resolve it, so all in all great service and food

The Boatmans Rest

All I can add to the Google reviews is they’re accurate, and in no way exaggerate customers positive comments. As a regular visitor to eat at the Boatman’s Rest I can only repeat that the food, service, ale and staff are exceptional. Went yesterday (12/2) and they managed to find us a table at very short notice (always better to book in advance it’s that popular) and treat like royalty. Needless to say we’ll be back again soon.

Another visit to The Secret Italian today for the launch of their Wednesday lunchtime.
The service was second to none, food exemplary, atmosphere was great. Absolutely no criticism at all. Can't wait to visit again.

First time to Keelings, read the reviews, before going.All food cooked fresh to order ? friendly staff, hot tasty haddock and chips when l got home, massive portion was £11,amazing.
I would recommend Keelings,the owners have a regular friendly customer base always a good sign. I will definitely go back when l fancy a fish and chip dinner.

This was our fiirst time visiting The Mill of The Black Monks & it definatley won't be our last!
The staff were very friendly & welcoming on arrival.
The food was absoloutley top notch & the blue cheese sauce was the best I've ever had.
Can't believe this is only 10 mins from where I live & I've never been before.

Quiet when visited but staff very welcoming and cheery, didnt feel at all uncomfortable being my first visit and on my own Ideal for a snack and a coffee. The coffee was tip top and a good price, takeaway too by looks.
Dog friendly too so ideal if out walking the dog n fancy a cuppa.

The Old Bakery Pub is an absolute gem. Proper atmosphere, friendly faces, and a pint that hits just right. Their Hawkstone beer comes out ice cold, crisp, and dangerously easy to sink. Perfect spot for a chilled pint that tastes exactly how beer should. ?

The food is cooked by the students and they do a brilliant job plus the students do all service has well with the restaurant manger keeping a eye ? on to see if they are doing job but the food is perfectly cook so they no complain about and a great price has well so we would recommend to anyone to come and enjoy the meals

This is the second time we’ve come to the Bistro at the Pocket and it’s don’t disappoint. Both times the food has been exceptional. All food is homemade and to a high standards. Reasonably priced. Staff are attentive, polite and friendly. I would highly recommend.

Tunstall cross fisheries

Beautiful little fish and chip shop service excellent staff are great reasonably priced and most of all the fish and chips are really tasty just wished they opened more days in the week I would highly recommend paying them a visit.

Fish is white as snow with a nice crispy batter. Chips are tasty, cooked just right and sides are available in both small and large sizes. Probably the best in Barnsley !

First time I've been. Definitely be back. Searched for somewhere that does a proper sausage and not those cheap minging ones. Was very happy. £8.10 for a full English and a drink. Bob on. Very busy and even had reserved tables so I was lucky to get a seat. Better busy than dead though.

Monk Bretton’s Ocean Fish Bar

This is the best chippy in Barnsley. Nothing can top it.
The fish is cooked to perfection and the chips are always a winner.
Kids meals are more than enough.
No scrimping on portions in this chippy.

Popped in for a well deserved 1/2, as a stranger from out of town (Askern). Great atmosphere, lovely clientèle, and made to feel really welcome. Well worth a visit.

Normally one of our last pubs to visit on day out. Always busy great atmosphere. Never too long to wait for the Guinness beers friendly bar staff. Sometimes live band on. Seems a popular bar.

Hubery’s Fish & Chips

Gorgeous. Really nice light crispy batter and melt in your mouth fish. 12/10 would eat here again. Very reasonably priced too, fed 4 of us for £17 and we are all stuffed.

King Street Fisheries

Best chippy in Barnsley and surrounding areas by FAR. Lovely staff and owner. Prices are cheap but the food is lovely. Never had a bad meal from here, we go every week and everything is always spot on.

Catch Fish and Chips Takeaway

We call in here when I take my wife to Bernardo’s next door. I get paid in chips!
Always great food, cooked fresh and delicious.
The service is always excellent and I highly recommend.
