Quick service on food - which is typical pub grub (it is a Marstons chain pub) but perfectly good and tasty. The star of the show is the staff though - Kelly and her team are doing a fab job turning the place around. Credit to them.

12a Regent St, BarnsleyWe have just moved to the area and went to the restaurant as loved it sounded really interesting. The waitress was very friendly and helpful when asked regarding Gluten Free. All of the meat is GF and you can just scan the app or look at the labels to see what's suitable. The food is amazing and makes you want more even when full! The meat server was also attentive making our meal even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend and will hopefully be visiting again soon.

22-24 Doncaster Rd, BarnsleyWe had a lovely meal here for our first visit. It's a little gem. We got the impression Polish food is not spicy, but it is tasty. There are plenty of drinks in the menu. Choices of starters, main courses and deserts. Plenty of Pork and Chicken dishes but no beef. It didn't bother us. The prices are very reasonable, the waiter was exceptionally helpful and the restaurant was spotless and warm. As it's coming up Halloween the windows were decorated in such a way you can have a photo taken in it. There was an overlay on the table which looked like spiders webs. Children are welcome and high chairs provided for tots. There is even a play corner with toys, a small table and chair. A good experience. Will return.Vegetarian options: Many salad choices and several fish dishes.Dietary restrictions: Lots of choices on the menu, can be discussed with the staff.Parking: Plenty of parking on the street outside along the road.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu offered. Saw at least two high chairs.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get through the door.

I just took a 16th birthday party of 13 there for 5.30pm on a Sunday straight after 3 hours of swimming. 11 FAMISHED boys on a very cold rainy winter evening. Within 45 mins, Puccini's had everyone full, fed, warm and happy. They even had a number "6" candle when the one I took turned out to be a "9"! :DI can't thank the team enough for looking after us so well and treating us all like kings for an evening. We'll definitely back. And the food was amazing too and all the boys loved it (even the autistic ones who have particular tastes). Wholeheartedly recommended <3 <3 <3

Accommodated my allergies by customising dishes with no fuss.Was rather cold in the restaurant, but I'm sure it warms up later when there are more customers.Asked for no ice in drinks which they didn't do initially - which is why I dropped a star.Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to nuts and some other things.

The husband (although not gluten free) enjoyed his meal immensely, saying he wouldn't know the difference. The batter on both the fish and sausage was crispy and delicious. When we went to collect the food it was a pleasure to chat to Ian about the produce and ingredients he uses, he is obviously passionate and knowledgable about what he does. 243 Park Rd, BarnsleyI have wanted to visit for ages and it didn't disappoint from start to finish. The room is absolutely beautifully decorated it was stunning. The food was well worth the wait too. We had non alcoholic prosecco on arrival with pate and warm bread then you could pick another drink off the list with your sandwiches and then a third drink with your cakes and desserts. We were absolutely stuffed so we bagged up some cakes to bring home.

This place is unusual in the respect that their bacon actually tastes of bacon like it use to be. Most other places do bacon that has absolutely no flavour. Staff were very friendly and attentive, the place was very clean and there is plenty of parking available on the roads outside. In addition their prices are excellent. Quality and value for money. Will definitely be calling again.

West St, Worsbrough, BarnsleyFirst visit to the Dale Tavern. First impression from the outside was that it looked a little tired and in need of a bit of paint. Plenty of parking space but the surface is a little uneven. Inside was lovely, decorated to a very good standard, clean and very tidy. Sadly we hadn't booked in to eat so cannot comment on food but it looked and smelled delicious. No craft ale so was left with a pint of Smiths, I can't remember seeing another bitter on offer but there may have been. Plenty of lagers to choose from though. Staff were pleasant enough, though being a new face I felt I could've had a warmer welcome. All in all a very well presented warm and nice place. We will definitely be returning only Next time we'll be booked in.

Tingle Bridge Ln, Hemingfield, BarnsleyOnly our second visit, but we were in the area, and I was tempted to see if the E&C Burger I'd had on my last visit was as brilliant as I'd remembered the first time. It most definitely was. Strange really, because I rarely order a burger in a pub/restaurant, but this one is well worth the trip. My wife had the Halloumi burger which she also really enjoyed. We were made to feel very welcome by the landlady and her staff, and went away feeling very full and satisfied. A shame you're not on our doorstep, but we will definitely be back, at least to try some of the other items on the menu.

16 Fountain Parade, Mapplewell, BarnsleyThis was our first visit and we went for the early bird, my partner had 2 courses I had 3 and paid extra for a steak, when we got our bill they had charged us £4.95 each for the veg and £5,95 for a dessert which we queried, they knocked the dessert money off as it came in our offer but on the menu it says chips, veg or salad it should say chips or veg or salad we know for the future but when you go to Miller and Carter they always ask if you have been before to explain things perhaps they should do the same. The front of house guy is miserable and doesn't talk unless you are a table full of women then he sits down with them, not that I want him to sit with me but a smile or is everything ok costs nothing. I will go again as it was a nice meal.

The two male waiters serving last night were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and all drinks made were lovely. We would recommend to anyone. Thank you!

Ample parking at the back.Overall this was a very satisfying experience.The service started brilliantly.We were greeted at the bar by the Head Waiter who instructed his staff to seat us at our prebooked table. Our drinks orders were taken and then the Head Waiter came over to inform of the Specials on the menu and the soup of the day.A short wait for our drinks followed by our usual mix of starters.We had the scallops which were on the specials menu. These were cooked perfectly, sat on a cauliflower puree, a thoroughly enjoyable dish.. The Duck Orange Pate had a good flavour and was seved with a chutney, which slightly overpowered the pate and bread.The wild mushroom arancini, the only real disappointment of the meal, was a little bland, we couldn't really taste the mushrooms and garlic if there was any present though great texture. The marinara sauce they sat on was a good strong clean and fresh flavour.We had the beef sirloin Sunday Roast main course served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes , mash and vegetables.The beef was cooked to perfection and the gravy was exceptionally delicious. Mash was smooth and creamy and well cooked vegetables.The horseradish served with it had good kick, and seemed to be homemade with real grated horseradish.We had to try the seasonal bonfire parkin cake. Although nice and a bit different from the usual menu desserts it was in need of some more sauce or ice cream.The sticky toffee pudding was light and full of flavour.The blackberry parfait was a little bland lacking the punch of blackberry I was hoping for, but pleasant enough.Although the food was very good overall, it was the service which was outstanding at this place. We were offered drinks at exactly the right moment, we were checked on to see if everything was OK, the staff were all courteous and respectful, taking care to apologise for any interruptions they needed to make to offer drinks etc. The chap running the team was meticulous in his work and orchestrated everything impeccably.This would have been our first 10/10 for service but one of the waitresses brought our last drink holding the glass by the top with her fingers all around the rim.We will definitely be returning to try the midweek menu .The Pecking Orders final verdict.Being just a few minutes off the M1 motorway it's definitely worth a detour if you're passing.

1 Elm Row, BarnsleyI can only comment on the food I ordered as this is the first time I've been to the Bistro, I was greeted by a pleasant member of staff who took my niece and myself to our seats when we had decided on order a 12oz rib eye steak was the choice for both .we ordered it with home cooked chips side salad and onion rings. Well at this point the chef came to our table to ask how we wanted our steak cooked, we decided to have it medium but asked the chef the best way to have it he suggested we have it just this side of medium to rare .when it arrived there was a bounty of food ,but let me tell you never have I tasted a piece of meat like this .I put a piece of steak into my mouth and started to eat ,I closed my eyes in bliss as the flavour burst into mouth and all I could say was wow ,this was the best steak I have ever eaten and the home cooked chips were a perfect companion to this meal.I will definitely be eating here again the only complaint is that I didn't leave room for a sweet .

243 Park Rd, BarnsleyI have wanted to visit for ages and it didn't disappoint from start to finish. The room is absolutely beautifully decorated it was stunning. The food was well worth the wait too. We had non alcoholic prosecco on arrival with pate and warm bread then you could pick another drink off the list with your sandwiches and then a third drink with your cakes and desserts. We were absolutely stuffed so we bagged up some cakes to bring home.

22-24 Doncaster Rd, BarnsleyWe had a lovely meal here for our first visit. It's a little gem. We got the impression Polish food is not spicy, but it is tasty. There are plenty of drinks in the menu. Choices of starters, main courses and deserts. Plenty of Pork and Chicken dishes but no beef. It didn't bother us. The prices are very reasonable, the waiter was exceptionally helpful and the restaurant was spotless and warm. As it's coming up Halloween the windows were decorated in such a way you can have a photo taken in it. There was an overlay on the table which looked like spiders webs. Children are welcome and high chairs provided for tots. There is even a play corner with toys, a small table and chair. A good experience. Will return.Vegetarian options: Many salad choices and several fish dishes.Dietary restrictions: Lots of choices on the menu, can be discussed with the staff.Parking: Plenty of parking on the street outside along the road.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu offered. Saw at least two high chairs.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get through the door.

I just took a 16th birthday party of 13 there for 5.30pm on a Sunday straight after 3 hours of swimming. 11 FAMISHED boys on a very cold rainy winter evening. Within 45 mins, Puccini's had everyone full, fed, warm and happy. They even had a number "6" candle when the one I took turned out to be a "9"! :DI can't thank the team enough for looking after us so well and treating us all like kings for an evening. We'll definitely back. And the food was amazing too and all the boys loved it (even the autistic ones who have particular tastes). Wholeheartedly recommended <3 <3 <3
