Went to wedding venue, beautiful place. Brilliant bar staff.Now for Bad bits. Not enough food served. Nobody asked if anyone had allergies regarding food that was served. When asked what was in the food. Nobody was sure, or if cross contamination.Toilets was OK but seats wonky.

Arranged to visit for a Sunday lunch and have to admit I was underwhelmed by their offering, their service and their general attitude.Firstly, on their website on the Friday beforehand, their (not a 'sample') menu stated an all-inclusive price of £24.95, but in fact it was a per course charge.In addition it stated bookings could only be made for groups of 10+ when, in fact it was 6+Secondly, the overall service was abysmal.Thirdly, the quality of food is not what one would expect of a 4* establishment.When I informed them of their discrepancy at (1), it was dismissed with a "so what" attitude; there was no offer of honouring their website priceIt is approx 50 years since I frequented this establishment and am glad to say I shall not be in a position to do so again, unless cryogenics make this possible within the next few years and, even then, there would need to be a most generous inducement to do so

We went to an 80th birthday party and it was brilliant. Great atmosphere, good food but the drinks were expensive.Walkability: The Crown is in the center of Bawtry so you can access all the local amenities. There are great local walks at Harwell and King's Woods.

Tried to book Sunday lunch and was advised that they only operate a walk in service. Arrived and was instantly asked if I had a booking as they were currently fully booked. Not good!!!!

Good clean rooms . Well kept hotel. The breakfast was good and freshly cooked . My only negative was cheep coffee in the room . Why do so many hotels do this ?
