I expected a bit more spicy food here, but it was fairly good. The staff are good. The most serious problem I found here was that they ask for cash payment and they do not give a printed receipt eithe; one can easily understand that it's a way to evade taxes.
Called in with my partner for an early dinner and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted very well. Ordered a starter and a main .The starter was very nice, but the main was delicious. The meat was very tender and the sweetness and the spiciness was perfect. Wanted to eat it again. The service was spot on and we were made to feel very welcome. We will most definitely be returning. Sunday night in Sheffield after a cancelled gig, an evening in the Shapla was suggested. What a great decision, pleasant restaurant not too far from the city centre. A warm welcome and excellent service from the staff who couldn't do enough. Food was served quickly and came piping hot, full of flavour and with more than ample portion sizes. Menu choice is excellent and we will definitely be calling again next time we visit the Steel City. Highly recommend you give it a try.
