“On the recommendation of a friend four of us went to the Red Lion for lunch. It was a treat to find a restaurant with a large car park. Once inside we were met by a welcoming waitress who showed us to our table. The décor of the restaurant was impressive, we had two menus to choose from a daily one and the full menu which is quite extensive. We all had a starter followed by a mains and two of us had sweets. We all agreed the food was excellent it arrived promptly and on warm plates which is a must. The whole experience was great and we will certainly be going back soon.”

“We have revisited The George & Dragon in July 2024 for a drink .We were all very pleased we called in as we were really impressed by the quality of the Facers Flintshire Mountain Mild . This would appear to a nearly permanently basis . It is a superb example of a dark mild for only £3.60 a pint .

Visited George and the Dragon early evening on Friday 18 May 2018 for the first time after seeing it's entry in the Good Beer Guide. We managed to park the car in the street just up the road from the George and the Dragon. The pub is an interesting 1735 building slightly set back from the road. On entering the bar is directly in front of you with seating and tables both to the left and right. There is another room past the bar.

There is a very good range of real ales on the bar with 5 handpulls on the bar. We had a well kept drink of New Brew Steam Stout , from Newport, at the very good price of £3.00 a pint. The place was busy but there was still space. Both the staff and customers were friendly and welcoming.

Parking: The George & the Dragon has free parking in the street just in front of the premises with lined parking areas on one side of the street limited to 40 minutes during working hours”

“Yeah We had a wonderful Sunday lunch after we parked our canal hired boats. even though it was a last-minute arrangement for 15 people. Despite a shortage in stock, we managed to get our steaks and drinks from a nearby restaurant. The waitstaff, both the lady and the young man, were lovely and very friendly throughout the meal. Thank you and we definitely come back again ?”
