I was there with my husband and his family. We all had the tasting menu I had the pescetarian version. The food was well presented, the taste was good not wow! My husband and his family appreciated it a little more than me.The service was good. The sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable.Individual drink prices were a little high.

Dear The Flintlock Team,I am immensely grateful for the dining experience at your esteemed establishment. The amazing food, showcasing your chefs' extraordinary culinary skills, left me in awe. Each dish, with its stunning presentation, was 100% perfect! The thoughtful use of ingredients reflected a mastery I can only recommend. A heartfelt thank you for such a memorable meal!

A beautiful venue, tastefully and elegantly furnished with pleasing background music.Professional, observant staff who noticed when a glass needed filling be it with wine or water.Absolutely delicious food from the starter of complimentary bread and seasoned butters to the final mouthful.Everything was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked, we opted for the 3 course a la carte menu at an all inclusive price of £45.00 and were very pleased with the options. One guest, being lactose intolerant, was very impressed with the thoughtfulness of the staff on her behalf. My only concern and it's probably because I'm not familiar with the etiquette of fine dining, was how very small the portions were.Between 4 of us we had 5 glasses of wine, 2 bottles of water and 2 x £10.00 "upgrades" for the duck option. We paid £67.00 each plus gratuities. Fairly expensive by our normal standards but we did have a wonderful time.Thank you.Dietary restrictions: One guest, lactose intolerant had dishes designed for her, although she did need to order prior to our visit to enable the staff to prepare.Parking: Parking is available on site, lots of spaces and only a very short distance from the main entrance.

Had a fantastic lunch here on the way to a long weekend nearby. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious and left feeling incredibly satisfied. Service was great, served at a good pace and didn't feel rushed even though we were the last customers of the sitting. Particular thanks to the restaurant manager who was great, made us feel valued rather than just another 2 covers which can be the way in some fine dining establishments.Really standout meal and will be back if we're in the area.

Incredible place, food and wine.Discovered this as we’ve followed Thom for years and are big fans of his work. First time taster menu with matching wine flight and could not fault it (other than Thom being on holiday!)Service was exceptional and the only problem was trying to rank the food as it was out of this world. Flavours I’ve never experienced before. “Best thing I’ve tasted” was the most common review on our table.3 hour drive for us, but well worth it and I can honestly say we will be back.Visited for a friends 40th and the area is great with some nice local pubs as a bonus.

5☆ & more. Definitely the best dining experience we have ever had, the attention to detail in every aspect from the size of table, spacing of tables, staff professionalism at their job, quality of food served, Tom is a professional chef in everything he portray's in his business. We have pasted his place SO many times without a 2nd thought, but never again. We will definitely be promoting the Flintlock & will be back. THANK YOU for a wonderful experience.

Visited The Flintlock many times but today was our first Sunday lunch there. Superb food throughout the highlight undoubtedly the Dunwood Beef and Yorkshire pudding with delicious veg. Excellent value. Highly Recommend .

This is very much a higher end restaurant with a set menu. It's a dining experience. You will probably pay £50-70+ per person depending on the drinks options. The food is wonderful. Definitely a "special occasion" place.

Good atmosphere and food however some of taster menu would have benefited from more intense flavour . However enjoyed the evening and going back in September with friends

Im not entirely sure how to start this review as every aspect of our dinner was excellent but here we go. We walked in to be greated graciously and shown to our table. We were seated, furnished with various menus and explanations and allowed to settle in. After an appropriate time our drinks order was taken and the way my wife downed the cocktail, it must have been superb! Onto the food ....the snacks were really tasty, well presented and unusual with some great flavours and textures, first time ive had raw sea bream and i will not be afraid to try again. The starters again did not disapoint with a fantastic beetroot tartlet with great coulour texture and flavour. The hake with Toms signiture GBM sauce was divine - i could drink it with a straw. The pork and beef were cooked to perfection with sumptuous flavours and presented impecably. The desert, chocolate and cherry - the wife and i nearly ended in divorce as she wanted mine and that just wasnt happening. The service throughout was awesome, very informative and friendly and we had a great chat with Tom and him mum after dinner which was an unexpected treat. I really cant rate this place higjly enough and we will certainly be back.

Disappointing Having followed Thom on Instagram we were excited to book a birthday lunch. Arrival cocktails were fantastic and Thom’s mom was welcoming and friendly. We were shown into the dining room which only had one other couple and were seated directly next to them which is so uncomfortable in a silent dining room. The banquet seat along one side of the room is incredibly high and you feel like a child with legs dangling. The waitress was painfully shy & did not say anything as she presented the dishes, the sommelier was far more interested in the table next to us as they had been before & were ordering the wine flight, we poured our own wine, ordered via the waitress… awful. The food was brilliant in parts and disappointing in others - the tomato tart was so lovely but was ruined by an overly heavy hand with the cheese, the beef was tender but tasteless & the jersey royal tasted reheated. Another table did then join the dining room and was again seated directly next to us… 3 couples all bunched up in an empty room. We did send a message and we were told it would be investigated, we graciously said maybe it was an off day - but no further communication received. So glad we didn’t book for dinner!
