We had a lovely catch up with friends on Saturday including lunch & a couple of bottles of wine - the pub is perfect for this as it’s relaxed & a great atmosphere. A negative review has been posted about a family being put with ‘very drunk people’ meaning us and i think that is really unfair. The black lion is someone where I’ve always wanted to visit but never had the chance to go for different reasons.. How ever when a few friends suggested going here I jumped at the chance.Wednesday night at 7 and the place was buzzing. Every table was filled, the atmosphere was lively, but not in a loud way. Met an old friend for lunch. Our first visit to this pub. Apart from a bumpy car park surface on arrival, we entered a really characterful traditional British Pub with friendly, happy customers and a very warm greeting from the landlady. Cozy, warm, and comfortable table seating with excellent beers in prime condition and tasty food that was freshly prepared and skilfully served. The prices were very reasonable.
