Disgusting Do not go anywhere near this venue. The treatment we have received has been unimaginable. We booked our wedding with Swinfen whilst at their wedding showcase in January 2023. Our wedding date was booked and deposit paid in February 2023 for our wedding on October 12th 2024. We even went back with both parents to show them our venue. We then lost all communication, no emails were being responded to or calls returned for months. Yesterday my partner managed to get through to the phone which has been on answerphone for the longest time to be told all weddings for 2024 have been cancelled due to renovations. We had absolutely no idea, and they had no intention of telling us or retuning our deposit I’m not sure had we not been so persistent that we would have found out. To say we’ve hit the roof is an understatement we have lost 7 months of planning and money. the worst part by far is that they do not care, we were told we would receive a call today at 11 and have been ignored again since with no phone call. They 100% would have known back in January their plans to shut for 2024 so to hold a wedding showcase is beyond me. The sheer lack of empathy is heartbreaking, I adored this venue and have put some much money and time into the planning for there, we are losing so much more that just our wedding venue. I’m so heartbroken that this is what my wedding planning has turned out to be. Even if they renovate the place from the ground up the management, owners and staff will be the same and if they don’t care now, they won’t care about you in future.

Overpriced poor rooms with little or no facilities, N0 fridge in the room. Over priced average food. This hotel appears to rely on its age and surroundings. All be it the views are splendid. The staff did not appear to be happy in there work I had to ask three member of staff for milk in the room before any appeared .

The management was nonexistent, really, there was no management evident throughout the wedding weekend. Organisation was nonexistent. Fortunately the limited number of front of house staff who were on duty including John our toastmaster were heroic, and the kitchen staff produced beautiful food.

We arrived expecting the most sumptious lunch. We were offered drinks before we could even take our coats off, no offer of a drink at the bar instead we were ushered quickly through a pleasant room with log fire to a cold uninviting side room where other arrivals were putting their coats back on as it was so cold. On to the food, the canopies were dried up and flavourless, the starters were just about acceptable. Dont worry my partner said the main course will be something to remember, Wow , i will never forget it, a half inch thick slap of dried up turkey, raw vegetables and roast potatoes, the sprouts were totally raw. Our previously ordered drinks arrived to be quickly followed by the barman with cash machine, we must have looked shady and they thought we were going to run off. The Christmas pudding arrived, it must have come from the same place as the turkey, dry and flavourless. What a disasterous lunch and all for the giveaway price of £350.00

We held our wedding at Swinfen Hall in October. We stayed Friday night and the hall provided some great food for us all and then we held our wedding Saturday. It was just amazing from start to finish, the staff were all incredible, the food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. We will be forever grateful to Swinfen Hall and the whole team for making our special day just perfect. Thank you!

Absolutely wonderful. We had our wedding reception here 9 years ago and when we were gifted a voucher as a Christmas present we decided to use it for afternoon tea close to our anniversary. It was perfect and brought back some amazing memories. Beautiful location and building. The staff are fantastic and the food is delicious. Great experience.

Place is a joke. Staff half baked. Food shipped in and reheated. Toilets had been used...not cleaned. Never book your wedding here, it's such a disappointment. Owners/management ineffective, clearly all about the money, full of promises, but failing to deliver on every level.

Had the pleasure of staying here to celebrate a friends wedding. Beautiful house and grounds. The room was lovely and spacious with complimentary fruits, water and the usual tea and coffee facilities. The bed was big and comfy. Food provided on the evening was delicious, hot and plentiful. Breakfast was a little disappointing, although I did like the sausage and bacon. All the staff were friendly and professional. A big thank you in particular to Emily and Ruth who ran the bar. They were very professional and friendly and were delightful to chat to.

As a photographer and video production company I've been here many times and it's a favourite venue of mine. The same key staff have been here for years which speaks volumes. I've done jobs here for top-flight Premiership football players. Beautiful inside and grounds are very photogenic all within easy reach. Summer or Winter, can't go wrong here.

The most incredible wedding day for Mr and Mrs Tim and Rachel Wright. From the initial enquiry through to the day, everything was executed to perfection. We enquired about Swinfen three years ago just prior to covid. The manager at the time was excellent and everything was organised and booked. We fell in love with the place. The building is beautiful and the staff are so kind. There is even a herd of deer in the back field. The gardens are stunning. We also loved the history of the building with the matriarch who stood on the top of the hall, fending off the invaders.COVID hit and Swinfen happily postponed our wedding for one year. No trouble at all.Running up to the rearranged date, new owners purchased the hall and a new manager, Lucie, took over. She is incredible. Organised, patient and efficient. She put her heart and soul into our wedding. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Lucie, you are a credit to Swinfen Hall and to your profession. The other staff members were amazing. Stuart and his team ran the dining perfectly. John, the toastmaster, was lovely. He even helped to pick up and place my dress and veil for photos. The food was lovely. The day was organised. We had a brilliant day. Thank you everyone

Beautiful hotel nestled in very calming countryside setting. Well appointed comfy rooms that are large, bright and airy. Lovely staff and beautiful food served in generous portions. The full English is really good too, with excellent locally sourced sausage.

Attended the family function yesterday, too many steps to reach the venue, almost impossible for disabled people as no facility available.

A Luxurious experience in a well appointed country house. Large rooms, very clean, extremely helpful and professional staff and superb environment. 5 * experience.

Definitely a great place for afternoon tea. Superb food served by professional friendly staff in a 1750's country house with plenty of gardens and grounds to explore after!

We only stayed for 1 night as a bit of a last minute booking, but I was very pleased we had stumbled across Swinfen Hall Hotel The hotel is set in a beautiful and quiet location and we were lucky enough to have a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the deer park and Bleeding Heart art installation. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The room we were allocated was pretty big with a large and comfortable bed and large bathroom. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely go back if the opportunity presented itself again.
