Didn't book a room so can't comment on that but location is good. The bar area is clean and tidy service good as is the wine had a meal on 23/1/23 excellent food and service dining area well spaced out and clean and tidy would recommend Visited yesterday 4/12/23 for a meal limited menu only 7 people in the restaurant so not really busy service okay ordered green beans to go with my meal all the food was served except the beans which I had to ask for and wait at least 5 minutes and was at least half way through my meal when the beans arrived not good enough yes they took the cost of them off the bill and the food we had was okay but shall not be going back in the near future as the standard was not as good as in January just hope it was a one offFood & drinks: Eaten there in the past food is good as is the wine

Very disappointing. We went three weeks before Christmas to attend a Christmas show. The room was hardly decorated - unless you count a couple of swags and some silver baubles. The organisation was dreadful. Despite the fact that tickets said 7.30 start, we were kept waiting in the entrance, all crammed in like sardines, because "the tickets were wrong: they should have said 7.45"! We were supposed to have mulled wine and canapés included in the ticket price. By the time we were level with the table, all the canapés were gone - eaten by those lucky enough to be at the front of the queue! We found out afterwards that more had been served downstairs during the interval - nobody thought to mention this to the vast majority of the audience who remained in their seats! Totally shambolic. This is supposedly one of - if not the - finest hotel in Lichfield! It's shabby, lacking in any sort of atmosphere and the staff seemed surly.

Great location, friendly staff, that’s about it. The room had an awful smell from the en-suite, the hotel is a maze and needs a refurbishment.

A well situated hotel in the heart of Lichfield. Good staff. Hearty breakfast. Comfortable bar with plenty of seating. Outside area with patio heater. Bonus is the carpark adj to Bird Street public carpark . Plenty of eateries in the vicinity.

Beautiful period property located in centre of Lichfield shopping, resturant, and bars area. Immaculately maintained throughout. Nice bar and nice resturant areas.

Visited on passing for a spot of lunch and was delighted with the choice.Tastefully decorated with ample seating and space. Tables for couples, families and groups all catered for in a well stocked lounge bar.Reasonably priced menu and bar served a wonderful Ploughman's Platter for two with a crisp pint and a delicious Tea. Staff were all friendly, courteous and professional.A nice place to visit and no doubt we'll be back.

Nice historical hotel in a wonderful town.Very central location and easy to get around. However, only 4* as I think if there is wedding taking place, with a loud disco than can be heard in every room until midnight they should let you know beforehand.Walkability: Right down town

We held our Wedding celebrations here a few months ago and the whole day was made so lovely for us. The staff were really friendly and attentive and, the food was delicious. We came back last weekend to have a drink and, a kind member of staffoffered to take our picture for us as, we were trying to take a selfie in the courtyard. We explained that we’d had our Wedding here back in Sept and, he couldn’t do enough to make sure that we were looked after. The dining area was busy but he arranged for us to have a Sunday dinner in the bar area and it turned out to be a really lovely couple of hours there! The food was again delicious and, we want to say a big thank you to the events manager who made our return visit so lovely!

Very welcoming from the beginning. Excellent service with attentive staff. We were a little early so we’re shown to the champagne bar prior to our reservation. Here we received canapés and champagne of course. After a short while we were escorted to the oak room for dinner. Again the service couldn’t have been more accommodating. A refined atmosphere with great company too which always makes for a great time. We had almost every glass filled back up before we had the chance to do so ourselves and the food was phenomenal. We had the trio of fish, scallops and pork belly to start of which were perfectly cooked and seasoned followed by partridge and beef wellington with sides of mixed vegetables and dauphinois potatoes it really was a delight. We did have dessert which was lemon! And pavlova followed by the cheese cart and sweet wines. The evening really was a delight and we couldn’t think of a fault even if we wanted to.5* service here at the George, nothing goes amiss

Stayed in room 32 just above kitchen extraction fan, which was very noisy. It stopped just 9pm and started up just after 6am. The room was very clean if a little tired. Helpful staff and okay breakfast (solid egg yolk on the fried eggs).

Have been to the hotel many times first time using the Restaurant. A Lovely Piece of Rump Steak and an outstanding Bread and Butter Pudding could of eaten a tray of it. Will be back for Seconds. Also Staying at Sister hotel The Cathedral gave a 20% Discount to food which was a real bonus.

We attended a wedding service there, and the food and service was very good. The room was basic and the air-conditioning was not working, and as we needed the windows open, it was quite noisy.

Room was clean and comfortable but the noise from the water pump was very loud as it was shared with other rooms we were woken early by someone else's shower.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Great place to be just out of the main town but close enough for an easy walk in.
